People like the look and sound of the Hellas. Our stock horn is kinda wimpy

I did get a letter, and I'm just curious how much it matters, especially if I plan on going stage 2 sometime this year. Would my stage 2 tune blow away this update you think? The letter says there's no cost to me for the update, but it'd still be a pain in the ass to drop it off/pick it up from the dealer.
I have found a couple threads on this actually. A friend of mine received the letter, I haven't seen it although I could have just missed it and tossed it in the trash. We are both stage 2 so it will be a pain in the butt. My account on my.Subaru doesn't show anything pending so I'm not sure. Supposedly you can't register your car without that flash, I would flash now if I was you. I have some contacts at Subaru so I will post my findings, should hear something early next week.

Another thing I just thought about is if you think you may ever want to sell the car in a remotely stock state, you want to have it in the records that you got that update. Its essentially almost like a recall if I'm understanding it right

I actually gave SCS a call earlier today and asked them about it and if I should schedule an appt to bring the car in for the ecu update/reprogramming but they said they looked up my VIN and doesn't seem like my falls under the recall so I don't need to do the update/reprogramming.

I was curious cause I know some people got letters and emails too but I haven't gotten anything at all so I guess I don't need it. My car took delivery Feb 2011 if that matters. I believe pearlrex11 you got your car before I did so our cars might not need it?

Interesting, mine was picked up July 2011.

Yes, I am still stock. The letter does say it should only take 30 minutes, but to also be aware I might have to drop it off and come back later depending on my dealership and however they need to schedule their day. Knowing my dealership they'll want me to drop it off at 8am and I'll get it back at 4pm (perfect timing to burn my work day on both ends)

I got mine March 28th 2011. I will try to find out more info if I can. I really would like to not have to return to stock first.

This thread is stupid... IDK what it is about 2011 WRX owners but they all seem to think their cars are more than just face-lifted 09 models with a little wider stance

Because of the wide body, quad exhaust, wider stance, etc. Their are things like CBE's, wheel offset, etc that don't apply to the 09's. Someone does sound bitter though.......perhaps a case of wide body envy?

I got mine in August of 11, and never received the letter or anything. Even my.Subaru.com didn't have anything for me. Does anyone have the letter they could send me. So when I go in next I can inquire?

NO IM NOT UPSET THAT I BOUGHT MY CAR A MONTH BEFORE THE WIDE BODY WAS ANNOUNCED
WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT BRO
HAVENT YOU GUYS SEEN OUR 08-10 PICTURE THREAD ITS BETTER BRAH

but in all seriousness, I still love my 2010. Sometimes i think the fender flares are a little too obnoxious on the 11+, and I do like the sleeper look of the 09s and 10s.

With regards to validity of this thread though, my point still stands

This thread was created so people could ask questions without being flamed for posting in the wrong thread. Except for you, you are in the wrong thread. If you're not contributing, gtfo. The first five characters of the title are 2011+, so I don't even know why you clicked on it. Yes most things are there same and it also says any and all 3g, if an '08-'10 were to post up with a relevant question it would be discussed.

These attitudes aren't very subaru like. We've all got our opinions, but really all we've got is our cars.

Now, on to the pictures...and whatever else keeps us on topic!

I just purchased a cobb downpipe. I was looking online and it seems you can use the stock heat shield by moding it. Curious what everyone else on here has done/ recommends?
