I dont see how you would suffer financially from them repairing them. Just think of it like this.
If they resurface them now and then in 40000 they need resurfacing again, you just got a new set of brakes and rotors on your used $35K car that will take it long after the warranty. Our cars do not come with defective brakes, its not like the cars are in their first year of production. Shiot happens. Who knows what. Jay-R |

as far as the damage, i think some sand got between the pads and rotors, it was well past the normal little grooves that they get. |

I hate to break it to you, but taking any car down the dragstrip one time is abuse. You are not there to take your time, and all it takes is one time for it to break. BTW, in your situation, under warranty your rotors would be resurfaced, not replaced even if you disagree. You aren't paying, Subaru is. Also, by reading your last post, the warranty repair shouldn't have been covered. It isn't the cars fault sand got in there. Usually brake repairs under warranty are a one time coverage for the most part. Where do you come up with $1000 for front brakes? hell the pads are like $299. |

Rotors are $800 for the fronts and $299 for pads. 800+299=1099. Brand new car shouldn't have excessively grooved rotors. Subaru will not replace his rotors at 40,000 miles under warranty like someone stated, that is asinine. No difference in launch hard a few times on the street or on the track. Car is built to be driven hard and a few times down the 1/4 is well within the car capabilities without falling apart. To many retards from OT hanging out in here. /thread

That doesn't mean a thing. Top Fuelers are built to make 8,000 hp and yet they break parts on a single pass. A stock STI, mustang or any other car can do the same. Just because a car is built and marketed for something doesn't mean it will not brake from abuse from a single pass. I have seen a few people wring their WRX's and snap a rod because of one stint of them getting on it and they mistakenly shifted into the lower gear by accident. The same can happen on the track.

You would be surprised what subaru dealer will replace under warranty. I have 2 and my wifes rotors were replaced under warranty when I was deployed at 40+K. It was almost the exact scenario, the brakes started having abnormal problems at 18K, the dealership resurfaced them and then they started having cracks in them, the dealership replaced them for her for free, no hassles and no questions asked.
I was using her situation as an example. If you dont know every situation keep your retarded comments to yourself. Go back to sleep now. Jay-R Quote:
