Can't believe you got that to fit by the passenger frame rail, but props to you for doing something I've always thought would be interesting.

Eeek on the rust.

Yeah i had to adjust the wastegate position once. It clears very nicely now, and goes in and out of the engine bay all in once peice very easily.

The rust is nearly gone now. New tranny x-member, and sti control arms are in there now. Hopefully the shell lasts me another year or 2.

Default 2.5 parts on 2.2 L impreza's

I was wondering if a Blitz Nur-Spec Axleback Exhaust Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS GC8 1992-2001 exhaust system would fit on my 97 impreza

The length is about equal, just the flange, more specifically how it is rotated are different between Turbo and N/A

pretty sure the axleback will bolt right up... only if you do the catback you need to cut/rotate and extend the flange

Has anyone here made their own 3inch or bigger cat back straight pipe? Like a 3inch pipe or bigger and welded a flange on it to bolt up to the down pipe. I have the invidia v2 downpipe and N1 street cat back and I want to just make my own cat back.

Has anyone here done this? If so let's see some pics!

Here's my home made exhaust system.

It's 3,5" downpipe running backwards splitting into 2x3" tubes and end dampers.
I made it this way to provide enough flow and still have it quiet enough to be ran on trackdays and in racing.

I'm very interested in these varex mufflers, particularly involving them in a full custom exhaust that would flow as well as maintain stock or quieter operation while driving around town. Can the varex mufflers be activated with pressure switches? What other components would be recommended to complete it? How many resonators? Would it be better to source an already silent catback and add a varex inline? I'm leaning towards making a full custom setup, but am open to ideas.

Quick question: When installing O2 sensor fittings, should the hole in the pipe be drilled only to the size of the sensor tip, or to the full outer diameter of the bung? If I drill the hole smaller the fitting sits on top of the pipe with a small gap on each side. If I drill the larger hole, how deep should the fitting sit?
