Default Just Got My STI

Just got mine. I lucked out with about a 1 week wait. Black 5 door STI with factory short shift, exhaust finishers, cargo tray and bumper cover. Here is a pic of the car with 9 miles on it. Weathertech floor mats ordered and have already de badged but left the STI.

Does look good, for the first 60 seconds after you wash it lol. I have a black car now, absolutely love it when it's just cleaned and waxed. But after owning it I said never again. Such a pain...

I agree. If you have the time and dedication to wash and wax a black car regularly (once a week), than it's a great color, probably the best. However, I don't have either so I chose SWP.

That is absolutely what this thread is for. Asking, waiting, complaining, shared-ranting, sheer-joy when someone "Drives out" of the thread-of-doom....

It's like submarining for any of you bubbleheads out there, months of boredom accompanied by minutes of sheer terror.
well you can rant and rave all you want but it isn't going to change anything.

What do you think you are trying to accomplish by calling your dealership every single day and religiously looking up the status of your car when you are only 3 weeks into order? 99% of the people here have waited for several months. I'm not trying to insult you, rather i'm trying to keep you from going insane.

Let me leave you with a quote:
"Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results"
-Albert Einstein

not going to change anything, lol

it changes how I feel genius, or were you to busy trying to posture by quoting einstein that you forgot about fundamental psychology?

Inducing your pains upon others helps you feel better.

Have a nice night

Not trying to "posture" anything. You should re-read the quote and see how it applies to you. Yes, you are inducing pain into all of us, by being a little kid who can't go one day without freaking out and calling the dealership and posting about how it went.

How does it change how you feel? You are getting the same information week after week. You are getting absolutely NO PROGRESS. The only way to feel better is to forget about it until the 8-12 weeks arrives.

Thanks, I bet i'll have a better night than you.

Geez, overreact much? The dude's excited to get his car. BFD. This thread happily got to 3000+ posts in 12 weeks with similar posts from others way before you showed up. Screen name > View Public Profile > User Lists > Add to Ignore List... if it's really that bad. Or just don't participate in the thread.

So funny to see someone who voluntarily clicks on a thread complaining about its contents. You know what's in this thread, and obviously know that dude is bugging his dealership all the time because you read it here...yet you come back and are now going to complain about it?

Just stop clicking on this thread if you don't want to hear people complain and joke about waiting...it's what goes on here.

I agree with you that it is a total waste, and probably hurts your cause, to call the dealer all the time. That said stop your crying already and just stop coming here if it bothers you so much.

What no one here knows (and it's my fault for not saying) is that I know my salesman pretty well it's no big deal lol.

Doubt anything is going to hurt my "cause"....

Talking

My car came in. I was uber prepped going in ready to haggle my butt off to get as close to Dealer Inventory $ as possible.

I originally went with my Dealer because of a True Car quote lead I was quoted $29,316 on a 5door Premium w/ STS, Homelink, AW mats, rear cargo net, Boost gauge, Shock sensor MSRP $30,200 not bad so I ordered knowing I considered it a starting point. When my dealer called me today I told him I was ready to come in and work out the final price of my car, reminded him what I was quoted, and mentioned that the True Car price had come down a bit in the last 3 months to like $29,165.
I went with my dealer because he seemed like a no nonsense, get you the best price and get you into your car hassle free. Upon meeting him confirmed he was not one who would want to pine over negotiating, just a real chill, happy, friendly guy. When he goes to run my #s I am sitting in my car he brings me the white sheet of paper with the numbers worked out he has $28,316+TTL written down. I hold my breath for a second wonder if he knows he made a mistake, or if he is having a good day and decides to take $1000 off the previous offer. I just nod and say lets get this done and we proceed with those figures. 0 negotiation!
My car @ Dealer inventory+destination+my stated options all at invoice is $28,205. I got the price I wanted with out having to ask. Paying anywhere near invoice is RARE in SoCal, MSRP is a "deal", and overpaying is so common. Wrote a check for half and took the info I need for my Insurance agent, will bring them the other half tomorrow when my policy is live and I can get my baby home worry free. I cant believe the good fortune, I attribute it to being so well informed from this site and this thread.

I'm so stoked, I was so hoping I would be able to be one of those guys who could boast, "I paid inventory for mine". And truthfully I was doubting it given what I was quoted, my region, and all the recent fallout in other regions from "aggressive pricing". My price was a gift, a mistake, a Freudian slip of the pen, he probably could not find the email with my offer and was trying to remember what I said on the phone, and I won because of it. Glad I signed on the line and wrote a check before anyone questioned it...

been around them since I was a kid, since the first flight 1 LA boats rolled out of electric boat all the way to virginia class.

Can't really get into it all on here but yeah.
This thread reminds me of the stories from lots of guys I know in that world, about the 70's and stalking russians. This thread reminds me a lot of that hahaha.

Months on end of silence, routine, boredom followed by minutes, or even SECONDS of sheer terror heh.

nice dude!!!!!
old schooler

My dream was to have been about 29 or 30 in 1943 on a Balao class off some pacific shore heh

The nuke life is entirely different, no surface time, different deal all together.

ANYWAY lol back on topic, my salesman owes me an e-mail today when he hears back from the regional distribution mgr. I think he was going to try to get one of his other allocations or something switched so he could get a CBS limited and throw all my stuff on it when it gets here.

dang it a dealer here has a WRB Base wrx hatch with sts, spt cbe, exhaust finisher, homelink, trunk cover, blue illumination kit, wheel lock coming in this week and has not been claimed. Been trying to negotiate a price but the saleman is not budging on anything below $500 over invoice. Oh well I guess i'll just wait for the premium I ordered. Already waited about 3 weeks might as well wait another 13 weeks or so lol.
