Crank and bearings were hurt fo sho. Big up to jodie at last minute motorsports for sqeezing me in and getting to the carnage.

Looks like the rod was slightly bent, and the bearings just simply looked smashed. Pulled before spun.
The main bearing was even showing signs of crank play.

So new crank next week and turbo tuffs and bearings as soon as the money comes in.

My goal is to be ready for the oct. 15th shootout.

the car was fine for 3000 miles on a phatron tune. i got a lil greedy on c16 and had mikey push it too hard at the track. it was my fault for being reckless, and 1500$ later, i still say it was a night i will never forget! car went 11.4 @ 124 on an sti top mount!

funny thing though was that jodie from last minute motorsports did a great job instructing me on the engine/tranny build. the car ran 2000 more miles after that night.

when jodie and i took it apart yesterday we found that a stock rod had a slight bend, very slight in the cylinder with lower compression.

1. 150
2. 125
3. 150
4. 150

there was also signs of the crank moving back and forth on the line bore, as the main girdle bearing in the front and back were smashed on the inside area facing in. there was horizontal crank play. the noise was more than likely the rod, because the rod bearings had not let go. they were loose and fell out after unbolting them, but the carnage was minimum, as the sleeves and cosworth pistons are reuseable. the skirt on cylinder 2 was really unaffected, surprisingly. the noise was more than likely the crank moving in and out under load. the crank moving and hense the rods angle being altered...? the case looks mint, the bearings...not so much. im just fortunate it held on this long.

a couple nights before i parked it, karl and i went to a meet at the art museum in philly, jeremy was with us as well. so it just so happened that karl and i lined up on a popular highway red light. it wasnt supposed to be on, but for some reason neither one of us could resist. ( karl in the wifes mikey tuned 2010 sti ) again, another one of those moments neither one of us will soon forget. if hakt ecu wanted to explode it should have been then. but she hung tough. flashing check engine lights probably do mean "real time misfire".

so now with karls garage and master jodies skill set hakt if fully disassembled and ready for rebuild.

gonna use a stock nitride 257 crank, acl stock main and acl +1 rod bearings, and manley turbo tuff rods...

yeah thats over a thousand in rebuild without labor.

did get some nice tires from tire rack for cheap though...

still need front brakes...4 pot calipers/rotors/pads pretty badly!

this spider is scary...feeding on the rediculous mosquito problem...

I've got another set of 4/2 pots with rotors and kartboy brackets. I still sort of want the silver RS. Want to make a deal and I'll add cash?
