The GTR only managed to go 10.92@131, 11.0@130 and 11.6@130..
Launched on the 1900rpm LC instead of the 2800. The car was spinning violently in 1-2 and 3rd. The 11.6@130 was a 2.2ish 60ft trying to leave harder and did go just about 104 1/8th.. all others were in the high 1.8s. Just so you have an idea I was going mid 7.2 to 7.3s ET to the 1/8th everything killed me to just about the 1/8th then it was game over. Car weighs just under 4300lbs with me in it and was on 17-18psi and pumpgas. Out of injector and out of MAF. John hooked it up and we are now running it on RaceRom map switching and trans control. Car is around same boost but we kept the AFR in the 11s. Swapping out the injectors and going to SD in a few, just have to catch up with my work load. Huge thanks to John for actually knowing EXACTLY every detail of the RaceRom. I mean if I asked a question or wanted to view a map or feature he knew the answer and were to find out. I think now that we weeded out the **** talkers and ones that caused all the drama we can def move forward and go fast as a team. Thanks to Mr. Maxpowr, you now have a 10sec helmet! LOL. You missed my son hitting lock and unlock 2000000 times as we flashed in the new racerom.. lol.. Bricked ECU much? I'm waiting on some GOPRO footage of my doing a nice 60 roll with a new lp560-4.. Scoooooots hard from a roll..lol.. |

Running 11.8 AFR up top on the stock widebands should have you at 106-107 IDC and 4.88-4.94v on the maf (depending on ambient) running 17-18psi tapering to 13-14ish by 7k. Nice first runs, its only going to get better. Wish I had time to play with my toys, havn't even gotten my 35r out on the strip yet. Oh well, maybe ill have time next year. Good stuff, -Mikey |

Thanks JR.
Larger injectors and e85 is gonna be fun So mafs are completely maxed out right now...4.98s On high boost were at 130% injector duty. We had to lower the boost..still at 110% Here's a little video -John *edit* I dont know why but JRs car feels a lot stronger than the other STG2 GTRs Ive done recently. The EcuTek is such a pleasure to work with. (I still love the Cobb ) After the first 5minute flash it takes only takes 20seconds.. unlike the Cobb which seems like it takes a lifetime when switching TCM stuff. I literally spent more than half of today flashing new custom TCM stuff in The Shop's GTR with the Cobb... So you can understand why I like Ecutek so much, just super fast JR if you come to the xmas party on Saturday I'll show you a GTR that launches @ 4500rpm and doesn't leave tranny parts everywhere lol Last edited by Visconti; 12-14-2011 at 12:38 AM. |

Nice finally meeting John, although it felt like I have known you for years.
Junior...what can I say...always a pleasure talkin sheet with you. I thought you said if I let you borrow my helmet, you'd let me make a pass...Wtf?!?! Oh wait maybe that was a dream. Syke. I'd be skurred to drive that gtr. Without swingin on your nuts too hard the Gtr looks funkin good as hell. Just amazing. Stock 20's...whats upgraded tires alone cost? Just dayum. Guess I'll jump on the bandwagon...I WANT A GTR! Too bad I won't be able to afford one for ten more years. It's just all that minus a six speed huh? And we are still scrapping the surface? |

took the d&f blueprinted block to rich @ precision in lakewood nj. he is well respected in our community for his competency and kind manor. we found the main and rod bearings to have .015/.016 clearance to the new nitrated oem crank as i requested the loose end of oem spec.
so thats a relief and great news. the case halves survived case journal decking and line bore. the stock sleeve hone measured correctly thanks to the torque plate. ready for my cosworth pistons. what was interesting about today was rich noticing that the heads cut by fonse performance had the combustion chamber opened up in an unusual way. i am looking forward to seeing how ed of equilibrium is opening up the 2.0l to 2.5l. gonna look at ed's site now. anybody have any pictures of their 2.0 heads opened up from 92.5 sleeve to 99.5? maybe its not so strange? this is how i thought it was done... i believe mine were cut by machine by hand, not by CNC. looks pretty similar to mine...a lil bit. |

I don't remember the material, but they are softer then JE/MANLEY/WEISCO/CP.
Think its the same material as the "street" mahle pistons. The Cosi piston is nice and lets you get away with a lot due to the anti det grooves and coatings.. but if you happen to mess up enough they will break much faster then the others. I wouldn't use them in a high HP build, reason I took mine out! |

I am well aware of what you can do with just exhaust if you look at my other thread from 3yrs ago. 10.7@133mph with a good 60ft, and the other car we have went 10.8@12X with just dp/mids 2 months back. I don't know what arbitrary numbers you are throwing out there, but I have CAI's, full exhaust, twin pumps etc.. and my car doesn't tapper at all to 13-14psi. At 19psi with twin pumps we are seeing 130+ IDCs, at 15psi we are still in the 110 range, but holding it in the 11s. You must be running that car in the mid 12s to get the IDC to 107 on 93@18psi, and I def wouldn't run the MAFs to pretty much pegged. Imagine that car in the cold weather? I wouldn't be comfortable doing that to my own GTR let alone a customer. When you are a super tuner you don't have time for yourself Mikey I will be around Saturday picking up my supra to put it away for the winter and stopping by The SHOP with the GTR. Let me know if you wanna test out that 35r setup of yours |
