How to install Grimmspeed AOS (air oil separator) on WRX
Spent 30 min installing Grimmspeed air oil separator on my WRX today.
1. Disconnect this hose which is connected to TMIC hard pipe. 2. Position the disconnected hose facing toward oil cap as shown here. Connect supplied plastic connector: 3. Remove oil cap 4. Cap the nipple off of turbo inlet close to turbo by using supplied rubber cap.

5. Install AOS into oil inlet.
6. Using ~9" of supplied hose, connect upper port of AOS (middle one) to turbo inlet return line. 7. Using supplied hose, connect left bottom port with "T" from crankcase. 8. Using supplied hose, connect right bottom port with TMIC hard pipe. Last edited by txl146; 04-16-2017 at 06:47 PM. |

Its kinda dumb it covers the dip stick so you cant check your oil.

That really explains a lot, I was wondering what the hell the oil dumped into but I guess it goes on back around. If it weren't so pricey I'd dump my junk catch can.

u might wanna reroute that hose, may slide and obstruct the throttle linkage
or the end of the throttle linkage could pierce a hole in the hose |

Hose is really tight in there, so it won't move to obstruct throttle linkage. Also, I think end of throttle linkage is not sharp enough to pierce the hose.
Surprised you were able to turn it that much though as I can no longer turn more than the current setting. |

Here is the final version. I plan to re-route them so oil dip stick can be more accessible.
Jokers, that's another good way to route the hoses. It's just annoying that you have to remove the TMIC. |
