Has anyone used the Thule Pulse XL on a 2008+ hatch? If so can the hatch open all the way without touching? What roof rails with the box?

Just wanted to share this since I ended up using a NASIOC member's DIY for the fairing.

Also, I purchased some Subaru branded OEM mounts for attachments.. They are brand new, but do not fit my Rola racks (much wider). If anyone wants them, I'll send them to you for free (just pay for shipping).

What year is that ms3? The front end looks double super aggressive, also how is it off the line, spin through 2nd? Done much to it?

It's a 2012. Added a lip and MPS badge as well, but nothing else.
Off the line, it blows. I came from a '12 WRX and a '12 STi, so 0-60 is hilarious at best (5.7+ seconds).
Spins some of first and none of second. I had a CSRT4 that was a lot more powerful, and the MazdaSpeed crowd blows ass.
Overall, I miss the STi, just don't miss the interior/lack of features/discomfort/poor MPG.

Yeah, hopefully the interior/features/MPG will improve in the next generation of WRX/STI.

What kind of 0-60 times did you get with your WRX and STi?

And I'll eagerly be waiting to make the switch back.

4.8-5.2 or so with the STi (although the shift to 3rd is where it counts). The STi was a dream to launch compared to the MS3 and CSRT. You guys don't know how easy you have it.

Nice!

What kind of 0-60 do you see with the WRX?

And what is a CSRT?

I only had the '12 WRX for about a month before I traded it for the STi, so I never timed it. I heard its quicker due to the fact that it reaches 60 in 2nd.

CSRT is Caliber SRT4. Different altogether than the neon. GEMA world engine (Mitsubishi/Hyundai/Dodge) that produced 292 FWHP stock, and 304 WHP/ 301 WTQ with Mopar Stage 1. That was a fun little beast, but was amazingly difficult to launch correctly due to copious tq steer and fail wheel drive.

Sorry that this got off topic, btw.

Profile of my Yakima rack with Copperhead bike attachment. I use the 44" fairing as well but kind of hard to see in this pic.

Did your Copperhead come with universal mighty mounts (the oval clamp style) or did it only come with the Round style?

I assume you're talking about the clip that holds the tray to the rear bar? It is a round clip if I recall correctly. The dude at REI did mention clips that could fit round or square bars however, so this may become more ubiquitous with future products of theirs.

Well, Yakima has a mount called universal might mounts that they offer, which mount to OEM Subaru crossbars. They sell them separately, but my Raptor Aero came with them. I'll have to see if they come with the Copperhead as well (if requested).

Thanks!

I know this isn't a for sale thread but if anyone is interested, I have 2 brand new Yakima Subaru bike racks I'd be willing to let go of, cheaper than factory.

I have window clip mounts an they're kind of annoying and cheap looking to me, do gutter mounts work on imprezas?

check your gutters. if you see the four rectangular slots right above the doors, youre ok to go.

You won't have the same gutter mounts as the 08+ imprezas. If you're looking for something similar, PM me for a solution.

Pic request:
Anyone with an 08+ WRX/STI have the Yakima Basketcase? Considering it, although I don't know if the sunroof tilt feature will force me into mounting the Basketcase above the crossbars.

^^ I did on my hatch. There wasn't any way to mount the Basketcase under the bars. I tried all different ways.

More pics of that basket if you have them. Love to see it from the side and top.
