The logging will be fine for me, I'm just interested in watching what's going on. After 121,000 miles it's nice to look at some graphs and see things are still working well.

Yeah..its stock :)

Default cable question

I have software but not cable. I am looking at this cable on ebay - OBD cable

Will it work for logging data and saving log files? Good to see a fellow south african on here. Not too many of us around.

Cheers

It doesn't state that it works with Subarus... plus its usb, and the datalogger allows you to select com ports, which in the case of USB, you will have to get a driver that recognized the USB device as a com device.

I think the Saab ODB cable is similar to the Subaru cable.

My suggestion, don't get it. go to tari racing website and buy what they recommend.

Just FYI, the Tactrix cable recommended for Subarus is also a USB cable.

The cable linked to in the eBay auction will likely work for data logging, but may or may not work for reading/writing ECU images.

So let's see some datalogs posted!

I'm curious what you are all logging. I'm running Cobb Stage 2 setup right now, so if you'd like to see my numbers... let me know.

Any cable with proper pin outs should work with the data loger (just not to flash).

Plain and simple the tactrix cable is worth the money.

As far as sample logs you can check out www.openecu.org, www.tari.co.za or www.enginuity.org all wich have tons of logs posted.

Wish I knew someone who can tune my car. I don't know how to tune but don't have $1000-1500 to get my car tuned.

Go to PDP scrub floors, fetch lunch, Etc. then beg for a good price on an ECU reflash.

Wow. Trying to understand what you are saying is tough. Try some punctuation, like commas, periods, capital letters... I have to read your posts several times to understand.

I used Calvin's software last year for several months with my friends CoBB AP cable. This help me in trouble shooting several little issues I had with my stage 2 setup. For the brave there is also an ecu flash program called ECUexplorer.

ECUExplorer is the new version of the Tari DL1 data logger. EcuExplorer does have EcuFlash built in but it is still a datalogger (just with added flash capabilities).

Enginuity doesn't support 06 STIs (or any other drive-by-wire Subaru). Searching is your friend, that is posted all over the Enginuity forums.
