I know, I'd rather have a smaller wheel taller sidewall but I can't find anything close to the size I need in a 17" to fit over my Brembo's. I want to try just rear drags to make it leave more like a RWD car so the MT's might be the best choice for me and the should be better than street tires.

Maybe this thinking is flawed but I won't be at the track a ton and i want to give this a try. Junior thought that it should work! What do you think John....and anyone else for that matter?

well for one Jr knows his schitt with sticking to the track(look at the 1.27 60 on the p&l gc car),now for me I am going to run the new MH drag radials this year,I figure if I can go consistant 1.51's to 1.54's on bfg's I should be able to go high to mid 1.40's on the MH's consistantly. Also remember the mt's are going to grow more than the frt tires you are going to run thus throwing off the tire diam. of the frt vs. rear tires affecting the center diff in the process.Just something to consider.

John-what's your secret to 1.5's? Best I did on my BFG's was 1.63 but I was usually in the low 1.7's.

time behind the wheel and skills oh yeah.I kinda can feel how the car is leaving thru my clutch pedal and modulate clutch engagement appropriately.Kind of like slipping the clutch just enough to keep wheel spin under control and bringing the clutch the rest of the way out as quick and aggressively as poosible while still staying planted to the track. My issue is once I get past the 60 and shift the power really comes on and the car skates around til about the 1/8th where it settles down and freight trains the back half.

I'll let you guys know what I decide and find for my XTI, we will see. I think that the bigger tire and rear drags are worth a try....no? Hopefully the circumference will work out between the two slightly smaller in the rear MT's. Thanks for the comments and don't hold back suggestions.

1.58 60' on my first ever pass on these. 1.53 on the last pass of the day. Missed shifts on both runs on but with a 1.63 60' on mid boost I ran this

Density altitude was roughly 7600' today.

did you notice the car getting a little loose after the 60 at all Cam?I would figure you will probably run into the same issue I do with spin once you get out into 2nd and 3rd for sure. And just curious how much boost on that pass?

29psi boost. Car wants to run more and was Dynoed at 33. It didn't spin too bad except on the run when I missed 3rd and decided to get back into it. Then I was skating all over.

nice, your 60 will improve with seat time and a little more seasoning of the track as the season goes on.

What are you revving to 7500 or 8k? I'm sure you've got plenty of power to 8! Funny Juan and I are just talking about the same gearing stuff on my thread! LOL
