Is there a turbo/supercharger kit for the 2.2?
Was thinking about getting a 2.2L Wagon... Since its only 25hp shy of the 2.5RS' 165HP. But I'd like some more pep. Does anyone make a good turbo or supercharger for it? Also, do the 2.5RS and the normal Impreza's use the same transmission?
Thanks, KaZ

I believe that the Minnan turbo kit will work on a 2.2l engine as well as the 2.5, this may go for almost all the turbo kits since the engines are very similar.

JC Sports' kits fit the 2.2L. I'm pretty sure all kits for the 2.5L will work with the 2.2L as they are very similar in layout and design

The CAPA kits look really well-engineered, with good real-world power. I have often thought of trading my GT for a 2.2 Legacy and using this kit...

That is true about the wagon, but the axle ratio is 3.9:1 for both the stick and slush box. The auto has first gear ratio is like 2.75:1 and second is like 1.6:1.
Car and Drive did review both a stick sedan and an auto wagon. Both cars performed similiary. Of course the is a 2mpg penalty for the auto on the highway. Roger |

I would really like some more info on this as well.
Im planning on making the plundge into a subaru withen the next 6 months. Probibly with a used Impreza L sport wagon. And i was somewhat curious about the performance of the wagon, and what if any mods could be done to it. So if anyone can fill me in on that sort of stuff id appreciate it. Im assuming that just about everything that will fit a 2.5RS (with the exclusion of some engine mods) will work on the wagon. Like suspension, etc. Thats my main thing, make it handle better. Im not that well versed on the whole subaru tuning scene, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Why not look into getting a used 90-94 Turbo Legacy sedan or wagon. Has the 2.2L already turbocharged from Subaru and is rated at 165HP stock. Only downfall is the wagon only came with an automatic tranny? I'm sure you could find one for under $8,000 in good shape and use the money you saved for mods. Ask the Legacy forum guys about mods? Good luck.
