I don't why a lot of people dismiss this popular mechanics story. They were right about a many other cars like MR. Read the last sentence...
it's not like very difficult for subaru to put a sti engine in a legacy shell... 2005 Subaru Legacy The all-new Subaru Legacy is already for sale in Japan. But our shores are just starting to see it. The new car has an entirely updated chassis, body design and construction. And new materials and technologies will make the Legacy lighter than the current car. The Japanese version comes with either a normally aspirated or turbocharged 2.0-liter flat Four. Our car will have the bigger 2.5-liter Four, first in normally aspirated form. A turbocharged model will follow by about six months and, if you want the extra go, it should be worth the wait: The turbo will pack nearly 280 hp. Our sources within Subaru tell us that a higher-performance STi model with twin turbos and 350 hp will come a year later. |
