Default Lubro Moly Anti Friction MOS2

I've searched and this forum has no review about it.

This is the german products that MB, BMW, or VW guys put in their cars. I've came across this Lubro Moly Anti Friction addictive for the tranny and wonder if it's any good or is it the same (functionality)as Redline Shockproof oil?

Please see this product

The product description seems a little far fetched to me. It 'replates' and 'heals' worn or pitted gear faces? Don't count on it.
I work with all types of gear drives for industrial & utility coal pulverizers (worm, spiral bevel, helical). While I have no experience with this specific product in automotive applications, I have torn down pulverizer gearboxes that used moly additives and have only seen negative effects such as plugged filters & oil passages, and sludging due to the moly coming out of suspension.
For the WRX transmission, I would stick with a good quality brand name conventional oil that meets the Subaru specs. Also, to avoid any possible grinding issues, stay away from gear oils that have limited slip additives. The synchros don't like these additives

Thanks for the input.

Since I'm partially a german car guy, I've faith in the german chemicals. I'd used a variety of German chemicals, they worked great with my cars. Lubro Moly are used around Mercedes and BMWs, so I thought I could give it a try on our Subarus.

Anyways, thanks for the input.

But I doubt that MB or BMW actually recommend using any type of gear lube additive.

I agree. Powdered Molybdenum makes a good lubricant for certain "sliding" friction situations and is a popular lubricant for semi-auto guns and a whole host of other applications but it does cake-up and is in some applications not suitable where you have metal pounding against metal. It would likely fill holes under this type of situation but I doubt you want to change the tolerances of finely machined and positioned gears. Search Moly lubricants for a wide variety of information on these products.

On the other hand, how much moly is in this lubricant???, 1%.......10%.........25% Probably very little. Everybody is trying to sell something. Hwy61
