Just wanted to add that I am quite happy with this kit on my 2010 Wrx, I'm a tuning/driving noob, but it seemed to improve the grip up front and reduce under-steer, making it easier to rotate the back.

Ride is noticeably stiffer though, and I am running the soft setting for both.

All in all I highly recommend, great quality, and great price.

I just installed mine this weekend. I get a squeaking/creaking noise from the rear when I go through bumps, dips, and driveways at an angle. More lube?

Try tightening the endlinks.

creaking means more lube needed in the back

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere, but does this upgrade also stiffen up the suspension during hard braking? Or is this something left to coilovers...

Reason I ask is because a few nights ago I was driving home on the freeway at night and got cut off by a much slower moving car in the right lane. I think he must have been tired and just not paying attention to his rearview mirror. Anyway, I braked very hard (but not enough to activate abs), and the car was not planted during this deceleration. Car was rocking back and forth like a boat. I've done this in past performance cars I've owned/own in the past and the suspension does not go nuts under hard braking like this car...

I was a little unclear- did you experience a "pitching" forward, or a lateral rocking? These would help with rocking side-to-side, but won't do anything for nosedive under braking.

Sorry for not clarifying. But you are correct, side to side. So the sway bars do help with the lateral rocking under hard braking?

It was this thread that made me order a set of eibach bars and the whiteline braces for a 2011wrx.
I guess it's a coincidence that you're a max.org vet, lol.
Great thread, thanks.

They add lateral rigidity, which should help with your issue. Swaying under braking is due to some sort of force being applied unequally and off-axis, which creates an imbalance.

No. Only if you remove or monkey with the struts, tie rods, etc.

These bolt on using facroty point and do not require re-alignment.

Just be sure to do the install with the suspension LOADED. I used low-profile ramps. It was a pain to lay under the car, but you'd have to do that on ramps or jackstands.

Great thread, thanks.
The benefit to not using anything about my vehicle in my username is that I can then use the same name on every forum. It is amazing how many people I see on a lot of different forums. The org was my first love, despite it falling downhill these days.

Oddly enough, the handling (before installing the swaybars) was not nearly the limiting factor that the brakes were.

I could not beat the Eibach setup for the price. If there are better bars out there, they don't seem to offer the bang for the buck that these provide.

I could not agreee more with you about the brakes!!! They are (at least to me) the only real dissapointment Ive had so far.

Is there any particular reason you didnt consider the perrin sway bars?? Im going to be purchasing a set of something coming up but am far from making a decision. And nice write up by the way

Agreed. Have barely visited the place in the last 2 years. 2004 up until maybe 2008 it was a very bearable place. Once kev and jane sold the place, it started falling hard.

I considered a lot of brands. Perrin were in there, but the ones receing the most serious consideration (other than the Eibachs) were Whiteline (price and the irregular rust rumors cut them out), then RalliTek (a very close second). The Eibach won out on price and reputation, plus it LOOKED LIKE they came with endlinks. Even without them, the Eibach price was too good to pass up. Sometime you strike out when you try something new. This was not one of those times.

Just curious which end links anyone has used with the Eibach sway's. Also...any end link alignment issues?

phenryiv1...Thanks. I have been reading a lot today about the dreaded sway bar "clunk". It seems that under torqued end link bolts are always the cause. Is yours quiet?

Do you think aftermarket endlinks are necessary? I've seen a lot of threads where people suggest that stock ones may break with a thicker bar. I wouldn't mind saving some money if I could (I agree you do have to pay to play). I have '12 wrx 4 dr, and it will probably never see the track.

Take it with a grain of salt but from everything I have seen the endlinks are what complete the setup. Going with a set of tried and true kartboy endlinks will give you that comfort of knowing you wont have a failure.

You dont want to have an incident in the middle of autox or spirited dring and having to limp home when one of the skinny stock endlinks goes.

I have these on my 2010 hatch and love them too. I recently got the whiteline rear braces but can’t break through the 17mm bolt to get them on, and I’ve tried hard too.
I've done 1 track day with the car 100% stock and two with the bars on (brake pad and fluid upgrade too). Daily driving is noticeable enough, but man on the track these bars are huge. My limiting factors on 100% stock were brakes at times and the body roll on the turn heavy track I was on. Once these bars were put in my tires where chirping much much more, which meant the next weak link was tire traction and not my fear of flipping

With these bars on for over a year now and getting more comfortable on the track I upgraded the endlinks too. The Subie shop said I was wearing out the OEM links. Rallitek up front and whiteline adjustable in the back. The car does feel tighter again with them on. All 4 of my bushings are split at the top though and replacements aren’t as simple as going to Eibach's site. Working on buying some soon but it’s a $20-30 maintenance purchase.
The front bar doesn’t come with a lateral lock/stop like the back has, thus I can move my bar about 2" by hand in the front. I'm still not sure how much movement is acceptable or even matters because the bars are designed for vertical movement. Wonder if anyone has run across this?

I agree with Lrn2 that the links complete the set, but you can for sure get started without them, enjoy the huge improvements of daily driving with these bars and save up for some endlinks (unless you plan to go straight to the track, but then you have a few other things to upgrade too).

so i ordered this set for my 2011 wrx wagon. the back one would not fit. at all. i have an aftermarket exhaust on there, which made it a little more of a hassle to work under the car. after removing the stock rear bar, i put it on top of the new eibach bar (with the hump up). i noticed that there is an additional 1/2" in length on the ends of bar. when i snakethe eibach bar under the car, I hit the bushing bracket on the car on either side. i am able to line up the bushings on both sides without any issue, but once i try to rotate the bar to get to the endlinks, one side will go in, while the other gets hung up by 1/2" on the bushing bracket. i've had a mechanic look at it too and they couldn't get it to fit either. i called both eibach and the place i ordered it from and they couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. of note though, the eibach logo (with the hump up) is right side up now.

i put the stock bar back on without any issue while i figure out what to do.

***UPDATE***

So the problem ended up being the way I was jacking up the car. After letting the rear wheels droop down, rather than using ramps, i had the clearance I needed to install the bars. The front was a breeze too.

The car is completely different now. Turn in is immediate and the body barely leans at all...and i'm on the soft setting for both bars!

I just installed my Eibach sway bars (front & rear) on my 2011 wrx. I matched the rear bar to the stock setup with the hump up. The Eibach label and part number were showing correctly (legible). Maybe they fixed it or yours was just misprinted...I'm going to give it a test drive today because it was raining/snowing yday. Cant wait!

They fixed it after I called and reported it. They had a whole run that was upside down, but that was about 2 years ago.
