Should be selling my WRX either today or tomorrow to a friend, and then Heuberger is going to valet me from my bank to come sign papers for my STi .

Picked mine up on Wed. ISM hatch with short throw, leather wrapped STi knob, arm rest extension, and coming back for fog lamp kit and foot well illumination. Had 7 miles on it. So finally after 10 years, a sentra, an EVO VIII, and a crappy SUV, the WRX is finally mine!

Exiciting news:
Salesman emailed me yesterday saying the status is now "Released" and should have a ship/rail date soon. Looks like I'm a few days away from getting the car.

PS: My car has not been listed on the website as "In Transit" at all through this whole process.

Would anyone be able to shoot me a pm to possible give me some insight on my potential order? I am located in columbus OH and plan on ordering a 2013 wrx base sedan, only options being the spoiler and fog lights (possibly no spoiler) in silver or white (cant decide!). msrp comes out to around 27,200 via the subaru build site. It looks like my dealer charges a $250.00 documentary fee, $35.50 title, and then tax is 6.75%. After doing the math looking at $29321 out the door seems high from what i am reading most people are seeing around here? The guy i have been e mailing with back and forth stated they typically sell for msrp but they will "look at any offer" i guess im just not sure what a reasonable offer would be... anyone with experience buying new cars feel free to shoot me a pm as this is my first new vehicle. Just browsing around the forums i see a lot of people walking out the door with what seems like the same car for 2k or more less, i am just not sure how to approach it. edit, i will not be trading in a vehicle, i will be putting 5k or more down and financing the remaining, if that changes things.

If this type of talk/information isnt encouraged in this thread by all means let me know and i will edit it to get rid of the clutter. Thanks

The salesman you've been talking with definitely knows you don't have a clue on pricing for these cars. Typically they will be ablet osell around MSRP for somethign ALREADY on the lot. If you have to order it which in term give them some incentives with Subaru they will give you much better pricing, also because you have to wait quite a bit for it. Throw out some offer with Dealer invoice price. I say try $300 below invoice and if he deosn't want to do it then slowly work it up to invoice and if nothing works then say your limit is $200-$300 above invoice.

Invoice on a base WRX including the dest charge is $25129. Fogs are 290. Plus fees/tags/tax. Thats a good starting point. I ordered mine for 500 below invoice and options at dealer cost.

If anybody is interested. Just placed my final order(sort of ordered from another dealership a week ago) with Bill rapp Subaru in Syracuse on a 13' base STi for $33k. i think that's a very competitive price and would encourage anybody in the tri-state area to give these guys a call.

This is good info for everyone so I'll keep it in the thread. You should be able to do an order for invoice or close to it. Go to Edmunds.com or Truecar.com to price out what you want and it will show you the invoice price. The dealer still makes 3-4% on invoice, so don't let him tell you any differently. They also save money because they don't have to pay for having the inventory on their lot, and they get incentives for every car they sell. Invoice is a good deal for both sides on an order and most guys around here are getting them for this price. That's the 2K difference you are seeing.

I recently found a dealer that had what I wanted listed as in transit, about 4 weeks out. I simply emailed them and said I wanted the car and was willing to pay invoice. They said no problem, took my $100 deposit and I'm on my way.

You definitely shouldn't pay MSRP for a special order on this car.

yeah after researching more and speaking with a couple of people on here I am starting to get the jist of how all this works. I just responded to the salesman requesting information regarding their invoice pricing on the base if he is allowed to supply it. I also made it clear that i am in no rush and will be contacting other dealers to see what they have to say as well. I'd really like to go with this dealer as they are 5 miles from my apartment and they are nice enough to let us have meets there on the weekends.

Went to several dealers and I was getting ready to order one. Got lucky, one of the local dealers had a Premium Hatch in satin white pearl (my fav color), rear bumper cover, all weather mats, dim mirror/comp w/ Homelink, cargo tray, rear vertical cargo net and the wheel locks armrest for 28.1k with no dealer processing fees. Car had the wraps still on it, only 9 miles on it, so I know there havent been any happy client test drives!

For those of u in the NW area, sounds like several dealers are getting some new stock this week, hopefully your cars are going to come soon!

Called SOA with my VON this morning and was told that I could expect 8 - 12 weeks, but there was no other information or status at this point. They said that I was welcome to call back but that my dealer should have any info first. That didn't seem inline with what some of you guys have said.

Order: 11/30 (deposit $500)
VON: 12/5
ETA: 1/25 - 2/22 (8 - 12 weeks)

It was just reassuring that SOA had my name and all the right info tied to the VON.

mwakgp - both Carr and Dick Hannah have a few in stock, not sure if that helps you. I was in love with the Pearl White premium, so I might have over paid to get that exact trim, but there seem to be some options out there now.

Ordered on 11/28 and my dealer told me the exact same thing SOA told you. Maybe we'll get our orders at the same time

I ordered a WRB STI 5-door from Royal Moore, I hadn't seen any around. As much as I hate waiting, now that I've already gone to the trouble, I wouldn't take second choice on color or similar if there was one around. I appreciate the info though, I have a friend that's been thinking about a WRX and I'll pass it along.

It would be a lot less painful if I'd held on to my spec.B longer. So much snow coming in and me without a car. I'm definitely getting in more training for my marathon this way
