Looks solid, good job! On a side note, Steve (Dux10) is the man and an awesome tuner!

When you say that the afr is within 0.2 of what the Cobb says, are you referring to the af sensor 1 reading? You can't tune to that, it pegs at 11 at wot....it's reading is meaningless.

Ron I mean actual AFR to what the table is set to... So if the table/cell is 11.0 and then AFR is between 11.2-10.8... AEM UEGO, GS MBC, and Wally 255 FP have been ordered though so I can finish the car

He's not. With stock airbox/injectors/scaling, cobb informed him that AFR should be within 0.2 of OL target AFR.

Haha that's the hard part! Basically did all the research I could and called Cobb direct as I started with there map and tried to did out how close the AFR table was to the actual AFR and I was told .2 from what the OL table is set to....

Or what Steve said as he beat me to it!

I would NEVER tune a car without true AFR.

Its just not worth it, especially as you change the timing tables and go into new loads (g/rev's)

The MAF may be scaled 99% to only a specific g/sec, after that you're playing with fire.

But then again, im over cautious and running on my 3rd season on a built motor without issue.

While true AFR's are nice to have I don't happen to have a WB on hand but 1 is on order as already stated. I trusted Cobb on there word and the proof of a Dyno Plot with AFR was given to show how we'll the AFR tables matched the Actual AFR...

We will find out very soon either way. Heck with the timing that is in it I haven't had a problem with knock yet so just check back for updates...

knock is one thing, Josh. EGTs are another entity all together and is oftentimes kept in check by AFR.

You guys didn't think I was just doing this blind did you? I do have an EGT gauge and have had no issues so far with it being to hot. They are what I would consider conservative for the setup.... I've got everything but a WB which will be here Friday I hope

If its correct in this instance, that doesn't mean its correct all the time.

There are many more things that go into your afr than just the maf scale and OL table. Timing, avcs, boost, tgvs, turbo inlets, intercooler, grounds, 02 sensor age, maf sensor age. Etc can all effect it.

Also, whether or not the d range is still active and effecting open loop. Or if there are iat corrections being applied or not.

Payer,

As stated this is self tuned and I'm doing the best I can to understand and get it the way I want it while toeing everything together... Car is up tk date on matainence with problems this far and all comps are being used for the headroom when it warms up. Nice part is I can change/revise the tune anytime I feel the need.

AEM UEGO/Boost failsafe gauge and Wally 255 FP will be here tomm and hopefully installed Saturday. Luckily I am off this weekend so I will post the results of what I see on the gauge. If it needs adjusted ill make it happen of course

dont get me wrong, im not knocking what your doing. merely saying that the 2% thing is probably going to be further off. especially since ive been driving around like this for a couple weeks. The 2 widebands are a foot apart in the exhaust

That is VERY interesting. My Lc-1 is about a foot further down as well and has about the same delta.

i think the important things to note on this thread are

1) you shouldnt tune someone else's car without a wideband
2) the op is tuning his own car and is happy with the results, which are pretty decent!

op do your thing, seems like you understood and were willing to accept the risk. I think everyone should just leave him alone on that point, its his car. however, hopefully some noob wont see this thread and think he can tune without a wideband, but again its the noobs car and decision, let them learn the hard way if they cant read.

one thing you could (or maybe did) have done is move the stock o2 sensor post turbo to get more accurate readings that arent skewed by boost.

did you get the wideband installed?

just a side note, if you installed the fuel pump at teh same time as the wideband your fueling at WOT will be different than it was without the pump...IE the IDC should go down. The idc's i normally see on an 04-06 STi at 10.5-10.8 is ~105%.

curious if you got the failsafe gauge hooked up and logging too? Im having trouble with the microsoft.net framework needed to use the software from AEM. I keep getting an error and cant even open the program.

I didn't get a chance to install it last weekend and have to work this weekend but will try to make time for it... The FP will be installed also because it is deff needed haha

I will keep you posted on the progress bough and let you know how the software turns out. But I would also like to know where each of your WB's are installed?

They're both at the rear of the Downpipe about a foot apart. I believe the failsafe is further aft
