I really like this idea! Like the Tips and Tricks thread, but without the extra sensitive criticisms coming in from Armin every week or so. Maybe a standard format for info with the photos?

Camera: (ie. Canon 7D)
Lens: (ie. Canon 50mm f/1.8)
Other: (ie. Circular Polarizer, Tripod, etc)

ISO: (ie. ISO100)
Shutter Speed: (ie. 1/500s)
Focal Length: (ie. 50mm)
Aperture: (ie. f/2.8)

Processing: (Programs Used, Special Techniques, etc)

All of that info would be optional obviously, but it might be nice to have for some shots. I always like to learn about how great photos are created. Even if it is just something very minimal it might be helpful:

Equipment:

Absolutely man. Great ideas. I was hoping you would come in here too since we all seem to frequent the same threads and have similar interests. Extensive critisism is optional.

But yeah, and tips or tecniques used in shooting and/or PP are welcome! I like to see how people do things differently.

You can get a free 30 day trial right off the Adobe website. If you are looking for a free version, I can't help you there. I'm actually looking for a place to download CS5. I changed computers and have my serial number for it but I can't find the program!

I think HDR is cool sometimes, but most of the time it gets out of control. What program did you use to do this? I've always just wanted to try it out so I can say I know how to do it.

My own personal opinion some of the HDR shots are a lil over the top and look more cartoon. the basics are there, just a lil too much added. As for some tips on rolling shots other then having a wider angle lens, a steady hand and not shooting directly into the sun will go a LONG way.

Took this while i was driving (not recommended) but rested the camera on my arm, did up my settings and held the button down in continuous mode. had i not been driving i coulda added some more blur, but any slower of a shudder and it was really blurry, i couldnt hold the camera and support the camera well enough. but its just an idea.

Canon T2i / 55-250mm IS w/ CP filter and edited w/ Lightroom 4

ISO- 200
Focal length- 116mm
Aperture- f/5.0
Shutter speed- 1/30s

ISO- 200
Focal Length- 96mm
Aperture- f/5.0
Shutter speed- 1/30s

Shot w/ my 50mm f/1.8 II

ISO- 200
Focal length- 50mm
Aperture- f/4.0
Shutter speed- 1/60s

Should I be shooting at a higher shutter speed when I'm not using a tri pod to improve image sharpness and quality? I just realized how slow all these were.

Yes. What camera are you using? As long as you are properly exposed, you can bump up the ISO some to achieve a faster shutter speed if you don't want to mess with depth of field. Or...you can open up the aperture (lower number) but you will reduce your depth of field. It is all about finding the balance that works.

Under exposed shots are more prone to noise at higher ISO levels. With my Mark III, I can shoot at 3200 with almost no noise if it is properly exposed. But...keep in mind that ISO is increasing sensor sensitivity so you are going to be more prone to blowing out highlights the higher you get as well.

I'm using the Canon T2i (550d) . I just feel that my shots aren't that sharp and was wondering if that had something to do with it. I really don't feel that the IS does anything at such slow speeds.
