AccessPORT didn't improve my quarter mile time at all :(
So I was at the track one weekend and I ran the quarter mile in 14.9 my first time then 14.8 my second.
a week later I bought an Access Port straight from cobb then ran at the same track that weekend and got the exact same times. has this ever happened to any one else? what should I do?

Sorry, Have to ask... You said you bought it.... Did you flash a stage map to your car or did you just stick it in your car? haha jk. Not sure. There could be a couple of things that could be a facter. Weather to name one. How does the car feel? Can you tell a difference?

post your time slips
what were the ambient temps like. There are a million different reasons why you could have gone slower with more power. Does the car feel faster to you? |

An accessport with a pre loaded map isn't going to change much except make your car run better as in more healthy your best bet is to go get a protune if you want it to change cause their are harsh tunes and concervitive tunes all depends on the drive and the mod list on the car

Yep its all in a driver, I've seen youtube videos of stock doing mid-lowish 14. So you should be in high 13 range at least, unless you flashed that gas saving tune.

Something you might want to do is data log your car since you have a AP. Free software download, you just need a laptop to connect http://cobbtuning.com/info/?id=4214

my mods are: 3" TBE, cobb intake, crank pulley, (boost controller), and accessport, the mad that I flashed to my ecu was stage 2 with launch control.
I dont think it should be driver error because I got the exact same times without the AP |

No it doesn't. You probably don't know much about cars and tuning them. Please read all of Unibombers Faq's then come back. Your car doesn't need a boost controller unless you have converted your turbo to an external wastegate system. The internal wastegate of your stock turbo is controlled by the ECU's built in boost controller.

First rule about messing with your Subaru, you NEVER up your boost to justify going "faster". NEVER. More boost doesn't always equal more power... I suggest get the gd MBC off your car, put the factory one back on and see if your times change. Also reset your ECU, run it for 20+ min, then data log and go from there.....
I also suggest read up on parts before installing them onto your vehicle. There is soooo many threads on MBC on Subarus. With AccessTUNER Race being free for you can tune your own vehicle. Of course we see you need a LOT more experience before attempting to do so. I suggest you start reading. Last edited by nme187; 09-24-2008 at 04:15 PM. |

Sure, but as we all know, if you bite off more than you can chew you could end up with blown motors and smashed cars. |
