I knew he was going to want to run and I initially let him get the drop, but when he started to pull on me I hammered it, hit fuel cut, grabbed second and walked on him. I'm not "that guy" that does the rev-limiter wave, or the BOV Salute, but if someone thinks my car is rice I'll show you that it can hustle.

So far it's been about 50/50 as to how the other guy will react to seeing my car. I've had a couple people wave, and a couple people be ricey.

He didn't try to line up against me at the next light..

I can't wait for this thing to be tuned. Even right now it's a riot.

Got my gauges installed. Looks like I ****ed up the wiring somehow though cause only the oil pressure gauge turns green when the lights are on...but it works fine when I turn the lights on when the key is on but the car is off... WTF did I do

Fluorescent orange, but it's more dark over the black base.

It looks like it has a melon shooter, and other than the 18's, it looks factory. Most people comment on the rims and say that they love them, but otherwise I think it blends in pretty well. There are so many other white cars on the road that I think people just kinda overlook this one, and the fact that it doesn't have a huge Blobeye STi scoop hides it well.

It'll become a little more obnoxious here pretty quick.. Exhaust fab on Sunday, and the up pipe/EWG should be shipped back out Monday. Lightweight Crank Pulley and Composite TGV Assemblies were ordered too, and those should be here soonish. I think that's everything I wanted to do to the car for a while.

That should be enough to kill the 5 speed anyways, haha

Some VDubs can be built pretty well, and I have respect for any car. I just don't like the attitude that some of those guys have. My car was cheap, the wheels and tires even more so, and I like doing what I like with my vehicles and don't want to be judged for it. I know that's inevitable, but if you're going to act like an asshat and try to sneer at my car/wheels, I'll show you that it can move just as quick as it grabbed your attention.

With that being said, I'm not dumb and wouldn't try to keep up with what I thought/knew to be a well built car.

No clue mang.. Did you somehow mix up the poles? Grab power from something that shouldn't have been? Those gauges shouldn't have power while the key is off/lights are on, should they? I probably would have grabbed power from the wire after the potentiometer so that the gauges would dim with the dash.

How do you like the cluster surround though? I know you said your initial impressions weren't great (being that you're in the plastic injection industry and know what to look for), but do they match what they say the cluster would provide, a factory fit and finish? I definitely like the look of those gauges tucked down with all the other instruments much better than my A-Pillar pod.

I'm not sure. These are the instructions I got from a guy on Nasioc so that I could utilize the fuse taps. This was to have them green with lights on, white with lights off.

Red (from both sending unit & gauge) - Fuse #4
White - Fuse #9
Orange - Fuse #12
Green - Connects to green wire coming out of the sending unit

This was for his car's set up that just had one boost gauge, so I simply tied in the other gauges wires.

But as far as the cluster goes, its definitely worth it. Any minor blemishes I noticed when it was out of my car isn't even close to being noticeable when it's installed. I highly recommend it.

Hey guys, my name is Paul, I go to msu. I am currently about to sell my car I have and pick up a 06-07 sti. I figured I would post on here to become familiar with Michigan members. I know I maybe a noob to the Subaru world, and this site so I figured this was the best place to start.

It's been my dream to own a sti and I'm finally taking the dive to buy one. Currently looking at a 06 with 87000 miles on CL for about 17,500. Only problem is it has run flats and I need winter tires and rims to swap for the snow. So that will be my first business if I get the car.

The car that I'm looking at has:
Upgrades:
Perrin Big Tube Header and Up Pipe
Apexi Turbo-Back Exhaust
Turbo XS Blow Off Valve
ACT Performance Clutch
Apexi Turbo Timer
Brembo Brake Upgrade with Drilled and Slotted Rotors
Sony Touch Screen and Sub
Custom Gauges

My price range is around 19k being that's what the 06 sti kbb for. I'm new to the whole Subaru scene, been on the bike forms a lot and wanted to get involved here.

Lol ok. I got about 19k to play with. Really want an sti. He has run flats on it now so I'd have to either get new tires on it or buy a whole winter set up. Never droves "nice" cars in snow but my winter car trans went bad.

I like the black sti. I hate when people say its extra money to get this and this. I wish they would just list what it would be to get everything.

I had an 08 and hated it. I won't touch an 08+ Subaru again, not until a couple things change on them.

Just my opinion though.
