Lots of snow where i live and im using the wheels all year with all seasons. And im trying to keep it stock like, as i dont want to look too aggressive as i have my kid in my car with me most of the time. Thats why im not going crazy but the bigger offset might be worth it
Thanks for the input !

Alright, I read through about 50 pages of this thread.. including the first page lol.
I just want someone to confirm that I've understood everything correctly.

The wheels I'm looking at is 18 x 9.5 +38 and I'll be stock suspension & height.
the tires that seems to be recommended is 265/35 because 0.2% shorter
( http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp )
however, as most have mentioned... I need to get the rear fenders rolled

The only disadvantage from doing this is creating more rotational mass? So slower accer/decel and fuel economy?

Increased turning radius and increased tram lining as well.

And if its shorter than stock, you'll get faster acceleration, better turn in response from the shorter sidewalls.

Arguably another disadvantage is 18x9.5" ET38 will look silly at stock ride height.

Is 17x8 35mm 5x100 fits 2012 wrx? If so, can I use the oem tires?

Thanks!
Just for other people, tramlining means "vehicle's tendency to follow the longitudinal ruts and/or grooves in the road." (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=47)

This is a DD and I want it to look nice without sacrificing DD qualities. Coilovers doesn't seem like a good match for me because of the super stiff spring rates and loss of suspension travel. Would a Spring/Strut combo be the best way to retain most of the ride comfort and street road capabilities? Or would lowering springs be the simplest to get it how i want it?

you can use oem tires but your wheels/tires will stick out almost 1'' more than stock. Im guessing it would look flush with the fender.

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

OEM wheels are 17x8 +53 on 235/45/17
wheels you want are 17x8 +35 on 235/45/17(oem tires)

Springs/struts is a great way to lower the car and maintain ride quality. I personally think Koni Yellows paired with RCE Black springs rides BETTER than stock. I would never change the springs on OEM struts. The OEM struts are underdamped even on the stock springs, and it only gets worse with stiffer lowering springs.

Not all coils are going to give a harsh ride at all. it depends on spring rates and damping mostly i have some tanabe sus-tec pro street coils that are super soft and comfortable but not bouncy, they are 4K nd 5K spring rates with helper springs

Should have no problems whatsoever. It is a minor change. Closer to stock STI fitment, which is obviously fine.

I need some opinions for my future setup. Im looking at a wheel thats 18 x 9.5 +34 and i want to put a 265/35 tire on it to keep the speedometer close to stock. Im lowered on bc coils about an inch around. Would i be able to run this tire with no rubbing after a roll in the rears? I don't want to do any fender mods to the front. help?
