Very impressive, but CO2 isn't the concern at 20:1 A/F, NOx is. NOx goes through the roof in lean burn situations, which is also why OEMS don't run there.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lean_burn That wiki also mentions hondas lean burn engines running at 22:1. It's a very beautiful trike. If all the emissions are reduced, it's very cool tech. Tom |

One thing to note when re-reading the article: these performance numbers (92 mpg, 0-60 in 5 seconds, 140mph top speed) are running a conventional 14.7:1 A/F ratio (ie: without the gas vapor system). The company is looking to break the 100 mpg barrier using lean-burn technology.

Interesting vehicle, but I think it would have better acceptance/success if it was marketed as a motorcycle competitor rather than trying to compare it to a regular car.
The performance is very impressive, the mileage fantastic but I would be wary of how much it might cost. |

It seems to me like they took a CRX and made a lightweight tricycle out of it. It has that front suspension and a turbo D-16. It even has the old seats in it! It is a simple concept, very lightweight car with a small motor will get good milage. The rolling resistance of only having 3 wheels helps I'm sure. Don't get me wrong here, I would love one, but it is a very simple concept that won't work in America where people don't really like very small cars.

Beautiful car, but doubt it would sell in the US (hope I'm wrong!). Europe has more 3-wheelers. I wonder how it does in crash tests?

I would expect it does about as well as a motorcycle in crash tests.. I wouldn't strap a kid into this. ... but I would certainly drive one.
