Yes in most cases as long as it is the 91 octane version. It still would be beneficial to keep an eye on knock logs or at least make sure your IAM/DAM is at 1.0 or 16 (anything below .5 or 8 would be bad) depending on the car make and model. All of this can be seen on the accessport.

Thinking about adding spacers to make the wheels more flush with the car. Is there any down falls from using them ?

As long as they are well made and the proper recommended lugs/studs are used this typically is a safe mod. Over extending obviously could cause problems along with paint damage, rubbing, etc.

Default Tuning for 07sti

New to Subaru and I bought an 07 sti with intake and a full 3" greddy. It does not have a check engine with no cat so I know it's been flashed and it's boosting over a bar. I want a tune that is reliable but not stock. Any thoughts?

You could benefit from a tune depending on what has been applied so far to the car. The check engine light does not always come on with no cat but usually it does. The stock STI should boost about a bar and more in colder temps. You may also notice increasing boost towards redline RPM with the downpipe.

Feel free to call or text 907-355-6655 and we can get you in for a tune or at least an evaluation of what you have.

Thanks!
Seth

Water/meth injection with a tune is a nice mod that will let you make quite a bit more power safely.

I am interested in doing a stage 1 tune on my stock 07 WRX with everything absolutely bone stock and was wondering how much boost I could run on stock exhaust and injectors. The reason to im mot doing a stage two is because im gonna build the suspension and drivetrain than drop in a more built engine. Thanks

I don't have time to search and read through countless faqs, compare setups, I just want an answer from someone experienced.

2004 wrx wagon looking for more power, but I just want the minimalistic approach to increasing HP - Bang for your buck .
Right now stock everything except KN filter.
Shooting for 210 whp.

Future mods as follows:
catless uppipe/catless downpipe/TBE
COBB AP V2
A proper tune.

Questions: ( Please help answer in numerical order )
1. Any other supporting mods needed to achieve my goal ie fuel pump, colder plugs? Please be specific.
2. Is this achievable on the stock turbo without increasing boost? keeping the stock psi off the wastegate.
3. Is the COBB AP tunable, as in dropping on a dyno/tuner is able to clean up A/F , +/- Fuel as needed. ? Seems to me it is good for uploading basemaps, cool little features.
4. Opinions on upgraded TMIC and Aftermarket radiator for HP increase?

Thanks fellas! for saving me time instead of search, search, search.

1: No
2: No(doesn't the wrx already do 210?)
3: Yes
4: a) Not for stock turbo
b) Not needed

There you go buddy. All questions answered as quickly as possible. No need to search!

Why not search? If you searched then you would know that throwing out a XXXwhp is pointless.

Here's my question to you... WHY 210whp? Why not 200 or 250?

i've noticed that the past few days if i go WOT in any gear above 2nd around 3750-4000 rpm, it feels like the car wants to boost, hesitates for a split second, then boosts fine. any ideas? i have a 2011 STI with just a catted turboback and a cobb ots map.

Without some logs including AFR I can only guess.

I would check all the boost hoses and be sure the clamps are tight. Look for oily spots around hose ends as this can indicate a slight leak. A rich condition would cause these hesitations but so could a lot of other factors.

Try reseting your ecu as well.

Hi. I have a 2002 WRX with a stroked 2196cc ej205. Turboxs fmic, and gs uppipe Tial 38mm combo. Car is tuned at 23psi on e85 w a Blouche 18gxt. Anyways recently it seems as soon as my EWG opens under boost I hear a loud whisteling noise from the driver side inside the car. I feel no loss of power, but at Around the same time I started throwing a CEL for high maf output as if I'm pushing to much boost. I have removed all intercooler pipes and checked them as well as the couplers and clamps. No visiable holes or leaks. I am ideling lean on my AEM eugo at 16.5. It also seems to be a lil rich under boost although car feels fine at idle and under boost. My question really is what in the hell can this whisteling noise be since it has not always been there. I checked my vacuum lines and connections all on the passanger side but I'm not sure of the layout on the driver. Any ideas where to start? Also did a vacuum leak check n did not hear this noise although was a homemade vaccum tester. Please Help. Thanks.

This definitely has all the symptoms of a boost leak some where. Look into building a home made boost leak checker from basic parts at home depot or lowes. The effects you describe make sense, the car will run rich under boost.

The lean idle should self adjust since your in closed loop at that point, it is always the cars goal to run 14.7 AFR during cruise and idle. I might suspect a bad wide band sensor or it needs to be re calibrated in fresh air. The front O2 sensor may be out of whack as well since this is what the ECU checks for closed loop fuel mix...

If you can log send me a screen shot from learningview.exe , this will tell me alot. In the mean time I would still say you have a leak. On a car of this age I have run into injector seals (bottom ones) leaking boost.
