Here is the release of the full version of the standalone HP/TQ graphing application that reads Evoscan logs, and doesnt require Excel or copy and pasting your data. The interface is pretty self explanatory. You can drag your CSV files to the panel on the left, then enter the appropriate data in the box that appears and your graph should appear. There are several graph options and those can be accessed from the menu at the top. There are only a few cars in the data file as of the initial release but as soon as a few more people test it and get me data on other vehicles I will add more. The link to the page is http://www.bradbarnhill.com/projects/VirtualDyno/ Click Here to download the latest version Feel free to let me know what you think and suggestions on improvements. I know I am opening myself up to a lot of criticism but thats the only way to make this app better. Thanks to all of you that have helped support this application through development and to all of those who have waited patiently for it. {thumbup} Many thanks to some who have contributed over and over to its development: Mellon Racing Boosted Tuning Also if you would like to donate to the project feel free. I dont require payment as I rely on donations to keep the project alive. If you are a tuner please consider who keeps you in business and who develops software to support you. Donate a little per tune to your free tools community that supports you so well. Click here to donate __________________ Brad Barnhill VIRTUAL DYNO The ONLY way to graph your runs. First off let me lay some ground rules in here. Lets not get distracted and talk about other graphing software and the comparison between the two. The other thread dealing with this software was taken down due to the bickering in the thread. SO if you want to bicker ... find another thread to do it in. It makes it hard for me to help users that are really here for the right purpose.
Thanks, Brad Barnhill Last edited by bbarnhill; 03-29-2011 at 11:18 PM. |

the original thread got deleted so this is a replacement, so technically Virtual Dyno wasnt 'just released' as the original post states. I just copied one of my other original posts from another forum to use here. I am the owner of the thread and hopefully people will respect it and focus on Virtual Dyno in it. Hope the other people in the other thread find their way to this one soon. There were just a few bad apples over there but there were some really good people there too.

I was wondering why my bookmark wouldnt direct me to the VD thread.
Please post what parameter names are recognized if we use OP2 Can logs. I will just change the names of my current Logcfg file for that. If one uses the logcfg utility, it uses the romraider parameter names so I guess thats fine. Previosly edited the name length so I can get over the number of character limitation (paramname) for the OP2 can. Update: Ok, logical to just use romraider parameter names on my logcfg file. :-) |

MFB: I was going to suggest that ... using the romraider column names in the columnnames.xml
Glad you guys are finding the new thread. Tell your friends and family |

Looks like a nice piece of software. I'll have to try it out once the new fuel system is up and running and I start tuning the car again.

Subscribed - thanks.
Just need to check if I have the latest version or not. Just set up a new netbook a few weeks ago for my tuning adventures, so will ensure I have the latest / greatest release to work from. Regards, |

Thats one of the major things that the new release that Im getting ready to release (no release date set yet) will have. It will check the web when it can and see if there is an update. It will let you know if there is an update if one is out there. That way you can rest assured that it does that for you and you dont have to keep checking back. Even though we want you in the thread commenting

I'm going to give this a shot this weekend. What tables need to be logged? Also, is there any other reference information about the app? With the other thread deleted, there seems to be a lack of information on how to get started. Thanks!

All you need to log is TPS and RPM. Then drag and drop the log. Then select your car info, weight, etc (or make a profile and select that). Thats it. Please send logs to bradbarnhill at hotmail.com and we will work on getting that log format supported. |

Minor bug: when using the calculator to pick the tire height, you must use the drop down menus, if you type in the values by hand it won't let you click "OK", there's no error message, it just sits there. Very minor issue I know, but it threw me for a loop for a little while before I figured out I had to use the drop down menus.

Simple question. When using the preset weight for a 10 wrx, is it for a full tank of gas or no?

What are the minimum parameters needed for the VD to plot? Also, do column headings have a particular syntax? I'm just getting my feet wet with the OP2.0. None of my logs load into VD. I keep getting the E101 error. However, RomRaider logs load right in.

You need to log TPS and RPM minimum.
E101 means that the columns in your logs dont match any known format that VD supports. What logger are you using? Got a spare log I can probably support it pretty easily. |

I'm using the tactrix OP2 sd card logging. I used the logcfg.exe utility I found on openecu.org to create my logcfg.txt. I just made a new logcfg and will get some fresh logs on my way to work. Will post them shortly.
