Default question on my hybrid plans

so far the setup is EJ22T block mated to 2.5RS (sohc) heads, e-manage for now. My question concernes which headers/up pipe/down pipe combo I can use. will the stock EJ22T exhaust plumbing and turbo work or will there be clearance issues? what about the stock exhaust setup from a wrx.

You are currently running this setup or are still building? Love to see EJ series hybrids, so many people cop out and throw down big cash for STI swaps, lots of good power options with non sti EJ series blocks and heads.

As far as the exhaust goes what car is this setup in?
If your using Legacy cross member or wrx you should be fine with stock EJ22t plumbing, I'd suggest gutting what you can to gain some HP.

currently building...I will be running the wrx crossmember, and it is going into a 99 2.5RS I dont have the stock ej22t exhaust, just the short block with the 2.5rs heads, so I just wanted to make sure that I could use the stock wrx/ej22t manifolds/uppipe/downpipe or if I would have to have something made up. I figured it would be a bolt up affair, but just wanted to be sure.

WRX or legacy exhaust manifold should be fine with your WRX cross member keep me posted, I am building now also, not sure what heads I wanna use, the RS heads flow more than the legacy and WRX, but you loose compression, which can be regained with head gaskets, although this may be a good thing low Compression = High Boost capabilities,

I am running a thin headgasket...sure low compression = high boost, but I would rather have to run less boost for better numbers...this may be a slight remnance from my honda days where I ran 10:1 compression boosted but I am still learning the subaru machine...I will keep you updated.

if you need piping for a 99 RS SOHC heads + turbo, i have a friend who's got a kit off a 2000 for sale. pm me if you want his info-

the SOHC heads will NOT fit up the EJ20 wrx turbo exhaust manifold from what i recall. ask matt monson, he knows this stuff
