Hmmm I may come up and do this. Then come home and swap on the winter tires.

Now I just need to get my exhaust manifold heatshield rattle sorted out before then....

I don't know, the STS field looks good at the Philly event, with adam kobach and Cy Lee, but just playing around in ESP could be more fun than competitive

And Jim Harris is running SS instead of STX. Woohoo!

Where is everyone? AI runs great events, and the trophies are pintglasses.

Don't need much else, just some blue painters tape to make numbers.

My advice - Show up early. Assuming you're a stock STi, you'd be in AS class, which runs in the morning heat on 5 NOV which means show up about 0800.

Park next to the other STI/STi's so you can ask them about setup (tire pressure, etc). Take all the loose stuff out, including out of the trunk. Pull out the spare tire if you want. The tech inspection starts at 0830; for a new car, this is a non-issue but the earlier you clear tech, the more time you cam spend walking the course, which is HUGE. Definitely join the novice course walk - the event's Novice coordinator will lead a gaggle of novices (including me) around that day's course, giving advice and usually walking the line he would use.

I was nervous before my first time but I think AutoX is almost completely safe - only danger is learning how much better the guru's are at driving than I am!

Go for it! Your STi will thank you for it! See you there? - I'll be in DS class, morning run too.

Event schedule: http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/...05184161256596

If you have a stock STi, you're technically a little better off in STU than AS - better PAX. Plus, the other STi's in the class will be on similar tires and can help you out a little better. (and there's more STi's in STU than AS typically)

Anyone else? If it stays this lightly attended, maybe we'll get 5 runs.

I'm undecided. I've got a Philly based guy interested in some tires so I might need to go to Warminster. I'd rather come down to Ripken and support the A.I. event though. Maybe I can get him to come down.

Karen, my new toy is sooo much fun.

Is that a ride offer?

I don't know what I'm driving yet... I want to save the "good" tires for the last Atlanta Region event so I can kick some ass down there (their "Champion of Champions" event, where all the class champions for the year and all the Pro class drivers with a minimum number of events go head-to-head on index). I'm hoping I can beat at least one of the Mini drivers...

Could be. Depends if I can get down there for the event. I'm amazed at how much more powerful this thing feels than the STi I drove this year. It's almost RWD-like out of tight turns. It's a little odd getting used to not having ABS.

Dave, congrats on the new ride.

I should have my new/old ride for the event as well.

Weaksauce ... looks like my car will be rather disassembled and generally unhappy with me this weekend. Bummer.

We might show up this weekend to the autox. Would rather hit up the fingerlakes rallyx, but no clue if the car will be running soon enough to make it there.
