It's getting to be about that time.

I'm thinking of doing the switch sometime next week.

Too soon? Just right? My ride has gotten noticeably harsher in the MS3 these last few colder weeks.

There's no problem doing it now, I still wait till we're hitting low 40s high 30's consistently during the day.. Or if I see possible snow during the 10 day forecast ill throw them on. Better safe than sorry.

It snowed here on Tuesday. I'm picking the car up from the tire shop (only 1 set of rims :/) today. I'll keep driving the beater until the temps are in the 30s (probably another couple weeks).

Just finished swapping mine over. The ride quality was getting pretty bad on my summer tires.

In Germany they have a thing called O - Bis - O, Oktober bis Ostern, which translates to October to Easter. They need to do this since many run summer tires, which can loose much of their grip below 40 F. If you are switching from all seasons, you're safe through November (IMHO).

I try to go by that rule, however this year with getting a new car and wheels, its going to be November.

working on my set tomorrow

$300 for a set of used. 2 cant be used.
had to buy 2 for $300 total cost of set of tires is $600
Rims $400
Lug nuts $30 to fit my rims (factory wouldn't work)

mounting and balancing is another $60

so pretty much end up paying like $1k out the ass

Holy hell. It can be done for much cheaper. Did you up size your wheels or something? That doesn't seem like a great deal, but I don't know the details.

Snow in the forecast for Monday!

I'm in Chicago and I currently waiting either until the snow gets super harsh, or until someone comes out with a really good deal on Dunlop sport 3D's or the Bridgestone Lm-60's.
