RUTROW, No 5v to crank/cam on a 20k
So she just died, on the road( v4 ej20k swap). Got it back to the garage, no wave pattern from crank/cam sensor. No 5v from ECU pin 9 connector b136. I think the ecu went sizzles, but want to check if anyone else here had this problem?

yep nothing out of the ecu, and about .1 ohms from the sensor 5v and signal back to the ecu. I know im screwed. Just seeing if anyone has seen something funny like this. Or had any luck robbing 5v from another sensor to power up the cam/crank

you may have a loose ground on the intake or a cut somewhere, I wouldn't freak out so quick

none directly.
buy an esl board for your ecu and either ditch the maf or use another unit, like a z32 or q45 |

You can order a new orange EJ20k maf from any US subaru dealer, the part number is 22680aa271, it's a little over $300. You can find them used on ebay uk or yahoo japan auctions. I'd do new, who knows how long used will last, they aren't that reliable to begin with.

so Still having problem. can I get someone with a 20k to verify for me the b136 pin needs to have 5 volts to the cam and crank sensors with key on engine off or just tell me what you have out at the cam sensor for voltages?

I don't have a K anymore. However when I was re-wiring it to use an EJ20G ECU, I made a spreadsheet of all the ECU pins to assist in the pin re-assignment. The cam and crank +ve 5V is as below, so you're checking the wrong pin. If the car has an immobiliser, the cam and crank +ve are swapped around. The signals are only generated when the engine is on/cranking.
Cam PS +ve B136-8 Crank/Cam -ve B136-9 Crank PS Sig +ve B136-10 |

"over night parts from Japan if we need them....." Well not to over night but a Brand new V4 MAF did the trick.
