Default 9ff GT9-R Details and Photos Finally Released

Quote:
After over a year of waiting, German tuner firm 9ff has finally released new details and updated photos of their impressive 9ff GT9-R. The 1120 horsepower car will be limited to twenty units, each available worldwide.

Using a 4.0-liter six-cylinder Boxer engine, the car is capable of a 0-100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds. 300 km/h is reached in 15.8 seconds, en route to a 414 km/h (257.2mph) top speed.

If accurate, the 9ff GT9-R would become the fastest production car built, beating out the 412.28 km/h (256.2mph) posted by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, despite a pending second world record run by Keating TKR, which has already hit 418.6km/h (260.1mph).

Those who do not need quite that much power can take a 987-hp model built for the track, and just a hair slower than the fully tuned car. Still, there is a 750-hp version on offer that clears 300 km/h (186.4mph) in 20 seconds.
The engine is mated to either a six-speed manual or sequential gearbox. The five-speed Tiptronic is an option for those purchasing the 750-hp variant.

9ff claims no two vehicles will be identical, with a full slate of customization available on the street legal car. Multiple aerokits are being made available to guarantee this.
Pricing was not revealed on the 9ff GT9-R, but if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Sorry guys, I think it looks hodgepodge and sort of thrown together. Does not look nearly as impressive as say a zonda or a Veyron. Looks almost kit car ish

Perhaps what it looks like shouldn't be as much of a concern as what it is. I agree, I don't like the looks.

I'd give it a go on a private airstrip.

I disagree when people say it doesn't matter what the car looks like as long as it's fast. A truly great car will look as good as it performs, anything else is a compromise IMO.

Same goes for a great looking car that's slow as ****/doesn't handle

Everyone's idea of an attractive design is different, but I do agree that it looks kind of thrown together. I think they made the nose too long.

Edit: does anyone else think this thing looks like it should be on a NASCAR track?

That is sick. Wasn't there older GT9s also. I think I say it in Top Gear.

I didn't say it shouldn't matter what it looks like. I said perhaps performance is more of a concern than looks.

Think the nose is long for a reason?

Sorry, don't take that wrong, I wasn't directing it at you. Just made that thought pop into my head.

Top Gear vs. D Motor. The 9FF couldn't get traction in the drag race.

Agreed on the thrown together look. To be fair, it might look a lot better if the sideskirts were painted. As it is, it makes it looks like the front fascia/skirt/rear fascia body lines don't line up, even though they do. Also, all the scoop edges are too sharp, if they were more rounded it would go a long way.

It's amazing what sort of power can be made from a 4.0 liter 6 cylinder engine

I think it sorta needs to have the long nose for the high speed capabilities? I mean, if it works out, it will be the fastest production car in the world, they probably designed it with a purpose in mind

Which is awesome because nowhere in my post did I mention the nose, or anything detrimental to top speed for that matter.
