Thia weekend maybe. I do typically but right now I don't have a tactrix cable so if I drive it this weekend it'll be pretty risky.

It's not that bad over here really! It was a bit of a junk show on the road later yesterday afternoon! Glad I was in my Tundra, I was like GTF outta my way! Luckily I only had a short errand run to do for my Mom, so not much driving for me yesterday.
I am stopping at Angels shop in a few and will get on the road home. I'll give you a call before rolling thru Cadillac! |

Bits of exciting news today. Some relating to this thread, one doesn't
1 - I'm paying my car off Friday! Between xmas bonus / savings / yearly vehicle "stimulus" from work, I have enough to pay it off. Figure it would be the smart thing to do with my money. $14 in student loans and debt free. Could be debt free if I wouldn't have built a motor, but what is the friggen fun in that. 2 - I drove my car 50 miles yesterday, first time since i put the new O2 in. I talked with Manitou last night and was ecstatic to tell him, 14.7 AFR for 10-15 seconds driving down the road, was tickled pink. ... Ohhh.... Juniorrrrr please put down the GT-R for a few days please 3 - My girlfriend just got a job offer that will allow her to live with me so we can save money and live together. 4 - My grandma had a petscan today and 4 / 5 cancer spots are gone, this is a huge deal! her 3rd bout with breast cancer. At last, I feel like 2013 has started out to be a great year so far. Knock on wood 5 - Did I mention I drove my car yesterday?? |

Hey man!^^
1. Great! 2. Now your cookin with gas! 3. That's huge and a big step! 4. That is fricking awesome!!! 5. Oh yeah! Today I found a loose ground wire and a small vacuum leak and corrected those. My idle firmed right up and stabilized at 14.5-14.8 AFR. Idling like stock at 840 rpm's. I then got two pretty solid datalogs in. They were a bit short of redline because I ran out of room. One in 4th gear and one in 3rd gear but they should be good enough to give Junior some info for a map revision. I think I will look for another place to get one more 4th gear pull in tomorrow and then send the 3 logs to Junior! With the colder weather it still is showing higher boost levels, 28.5 psi in 4th and 27.1 psi in 3rd. I'm sure glad for the good E85 we have here in Michigan!! |

Nice man. Isn't that crazy how one little electrical grounding issue can make your car run like poop?
Damn have you been hanging out with anton or something what is with the boost control issues :P Kidding haha. I know this isn't the issue, but what boost control solenoid do you use? It will be interesting to see what % E85 the Big Rapids and TC Corn stations spit out.. I wonder if there is a cheap way to monitor that on my truck ( OBD reader for chevy?? ) |

No sheet man! You gotta be so very careful with every connection, hose, clamps etc....I blame them on distractions while working on stuff and then missing them. I'm glad i found them so quickly!
I'm running the Grimm EBCS but I think it's more the air temp/ density causing the extra boost and possibly the map & new injectors also. Like I said glad for the good E85! The E85 I was buying at Meijers in TC was tested by me at >85-90 % this summer & fall. The E85 I have been buying at Meijers in the past month I tested at 82-83%. |

I was texting with Junior tonight regarding logs and I told him that I almost can't wait to switch the XTI over to pump gas! It's kind of hyper and scary on E85! I'm also anxious to see what kind of mileage I'm gonna get on this build! He laughed at me

Wtf are you doing with this nonsense? I'm pretty sure there is a section in the link help file that talks about going from a known injector size to another known injector size. What you need to calculate is the percentage change and apply that to the master. No matter what, you will have to play with the master during start up and warmup. |

Don't know much about this, but there seems to be other data u are missing. Sounds like Kelly's right, though.

Thanks. I'm looking through some Data logs right now and checking out what his was. Can "scale" off his injectors because I know he is running at 52 psi base. Seems to be working out okay so far. Numbers make sense because I have almost 1000cc more base flow than him, so it wasn't that hard to accomplish.
Here is what I have so far. This does assume that the VE of Antons motor and my motor are the same. Which obviously isn't the case, but it will get me started. |

I'm not sure why you're messing with anyting in the main fuel table yet if the car isn't even running, up to temp and read for tuning. All you need to worry about right now is under the Fuel Setup>>Fuel Main and you will have to tweak the master and master trim to get you initial AFR to where the need to be during startup and warmup. Search first time startup in the help file to what needs to be done.
Why are you starting with a blank fuel table? |

Confused by that

I'm being honest, I have not much of a clue what I'm doing, so i'm more or less just messing around with it and familiarizing myself with the GUI. When I plug everything into the car it says "Warning E-throttle blah blah car wont start" I haven't investigated much into it ... Kelly calls... We discussed all of the above and he showed me a few directions to take and the E throttle cable issue could have been because I didn't save the map after I stored it to the computer. that was the very first thing I did with the link so I can try it again. He said that his master fuel is at 11ms w/ 1100cc injectors, so my calculation of 5ms (4.5 actual) is likely to be relatively close to accurate. I will be watching as soon as I turn the car over for AFR changes because especially with the cold weather all the enrichment will be taking place. I have a new mission for tomorrow to try to bang all that out. Maybe i'll even start it up to see what she does. I wont be using the fuel map that I have posted above - I'll copy over the scaled stock one that I have |

During startup your fueling comes from you main fuel table, IAT fuel correction, then you have your start-up fuel trims which are prime fuel, crank enrich %, post start enrich, and warm-up enrich. While during start-up you could tweak each and every one of those tables to maintain your desired AFR during start-up or you can adjust the overall fuel master which affects global fueling to maintain you desired AFR and wait on tweaking the main fuel tables until you are up to temp and all the start-up enrichments decay away.
Considering all the start-up enrichments are based off percentages in the main fuel table it would be best to get the main table somewhat dialed in before you start messing with enrichment % anyway. When I started my car for the first time I used the default base map for fueling but once warm it did require a bit a tweaking due to my cams and headwork. |

Thank you. I think I'm going to test out the link now. I feel pretty confident It'll be okay. I wont be using the fuel map I posted above

Welp, it didn't go catastrophically wrong, but It would only idle for a few seconds then shut off. AFRs seemed to be in check, but tough to say if it was accurate under first initial start up. I thought it would have been as simple as adjusting the injector pulse and the master from stock. I think I'll see if junior can get me (another) break in map, or if I just have to winch it onto a trailer.

I'm kind of documenting my help as I get it, so here is my latest thing I'm trying to figure out, since I dont really have a clue at the moment.
In the Link help file, it states that the Master is a value that the injector will spray when the cell at 100 kpa is equal to 100. Master = 10ms, 2000 rpm 100kpa, 100 in cell = 10 ms of injection Master = 10ms, 2000 rpm 100kpa, 70 in cell = 7 ms of injection Master = 10ms, 2000 rpm 200kpa, 70 in cell = ??? Ms of injection Only thing I can think of is that it would be equal to 14ms of injection. Is this the correct way of thinking? ( anything above / below 100kpa is simply a scalar) Last edited by Layvon; 01-14-2013 at 10:25 PM. |
