Default 05 STI w/ Blouch DOM3.0, FMIC, Catted TBE

As the title says this is an 05 STI with:

Blouch Dominator 3 with IWG
APS 525 FMIC
APS 70mm CAI
APS Turbo Inlet
Grimmspeed TGV Deletes
Cobb TBE (Catted)
DW 850cc Injectors
Walbro
Hallman MBC

This is a remote tune on 93 Octane in 97F weather.

Here is the chart:

* Note there is no correction/inflation factor used. Stock STI's put down 215-225whp. This power should be good for 116-118mph traps.

This car turned out really nice and made great power and torque for the hot conditions. The tune was done at 20psi peak and a conservative a/f right around 11:1. We saw full boost by about 3700RPM on average on a 4th gear pull.

Thanks
-- Ed

wow Ed, nicely done. I would LOVE to see this car on race gas! Seems like the Dom3 is the turbo of choice for most that have upgraded their turbo recently.

it's pretty much a 30r in a stock location setup...search 3076r turbos

that's great power, i was expecting a tiny bit more though...118 traps only? what's up with that ed? shouldn't this be close to a 122-124mph turbo? shouldn't a low 11 second pass be possible with this turbo?

The Dom3 is bigger

Green = 49 lb/min thrust bearing (http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...Code=WRX-Turbo)
gt3071 = 49 lb/min ball bearing (http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=SUB)
dom2 = 52 lb/min thrust bearing (http://www.blouchturbo.com/turbos/WR...Dominator_2.0/)
dom3 = 52 lb/min ball bearing (http://www.blouchturbo.com/turbos/WRX_Dominator_3.0R/)
gt3076 = 52 lb/min ball bearing (http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=SUB)

Not in a full weight STi.

Full weight STi's need a rotated 35R to get low 11's. A properly setup gt30R can do it....the right tires, suspension, weight, launch control and flat foot shifting....its not common though. Search around for Greens and Dom3's, not many below a 11.8-11.9. Its highly dependent on the setup. I mean there is a 20g on there at 11.5, xadrian did 11.6 on a vf30 and sean (downsti) 11.7 with the vf39, but all those times are not common at all, but they can be achieved with the proper setup.....most of the proper setup is weight reduction though, power/weight is a huge factor.

ron, isn't this turbo good for a low 11 second pass?

Mid-low 11's should certainly be possible with some better fuel and/or meth and cooler outside temps (and a hell of a driver). This was on 93 pump gas, nearly 100F and a lower reading dyno.

I dont want to start an arguement, but show me some slips of a stock location gt30 or dom3 running low 11's.

There is a large difference between a mid 11 (11.4-11.7) and a low 11 (11.0-11.3)

You need to trap 125-130mph to run a low 11.

You need to trap 120-124mph to run a mid 11.

Thats a large difference in power.....its mainly because drag goes up as the square of velocity.

Im not saying its impossible, but its not the norm. 95% of the people in the 11.55 and faster registry have gt35R's or larger and those that dont have nos, ppgs, and/or serious weight reduction.

^^but how many of them can actually pilot their vehicles correctly???

just because they have a big turbo and like to post their times online doesnt mean they can drive. take my neighbor for instance, white 05 sti, doesnt even know what turbo he has, it's 20g/green looking like from just a glance that i got, but WTF???!!! he is prime example of you ****ty posting time subaru drivers...

if downsti can trap 117ish with the 39, why cant a properly setup 30r run mid 120's without dripping a sweat??? baaaaad drivers and or bad tunes = 95% of ****ty subaru times = fact

you bitches with big turbos that cant drive, dont post your times because they make you look stupid, especially when theres a stock turbo car like myself keeping up

Just a little fyi the 3071 is a 47lb/min turbo, slightly smaller than a FP green.

Thank you sir !!

ATLAST someone who knows what there talking about , when it comes down too it .. its the DRIVER AND TUNE that gets good times.

and i could ASSURE you that if someone gave downsti this turbo he could do a low 11sec pass easy! With his driving and Ed tuning it im 100% sure.

I doubt it - this car doesn't have that much more power on pump gas than Sean's (downsti's) car when it did it's pass. I'd say race gas - yes, pump+meth - depends on your definition of low 11's
