2012 BRZ @ DC Auto Show
So I went to the DC auto show today and expected to see the new BRZ STI and unfortunately they only had the BRZ. But I did get to sit inside and get some good overall pics. The woman showing the car told me that from what she's heard there will be NO BRZ STI in production which I dont believe/hope to be true. The car was way sexier in person than in pictures i've seen. It would of been nice to see the wrb but silver was nice as well especially with the blacked out headlights. The seats were VERY comfortable as well as the grip on the steering wheel. It had a lot more room inside than i was expecting for a 2-door and I was pleased to see they stuck with the red stitching on black interior. The brakes and rims unfortunately looked like crap to me. Anyway enough of my opinions, on to the pictures!!!
Look at those sexy headlights! I like the shape of the roof which most people haven't noticed. Should of got a better shot I kinda like the small wing better! Pic from the trunk with the rear seat folded down.(Yes they fold down!) I was also told that the three lights on the bottom are reverse lights and a fog light! The wheels and brake calipers look like crap to me! What do you think?

Here's some interior shots.
Love the paddle shifters! Gotta love the push start! Last but not least a shot of the engine bay. Just wanted to show some love to K. Kraus & IAG Performance for this Jorge tuned subie at the show. Last edited by 07wrxstage2; 02-01-2012 at 10:28 PM. |

Oh, you're one of those? I think those brakes with the right pads, fluid, and lines will be more than adequate to stop an underpowered sub ~2800lb coupe.

No I am not one of those people I just don't know much about stock brake systems unless it's brembo, willwood, etc. I was hoping someone could chime in and tell me a little about them. I dont doubt they will stop the 2500lbish coupe they just dont look as presentable as the brake calipers on the wrx & sti. I think if they just coated them to color match them with car or black they would have been way nicer looking.

Unfortunately I did not. They weren't really letting me sit there and take pictures like that. I had to go back twice to get all the shots. Your right though it would have been nice to get a nice shot of the back seats. It was fairly small back there.

Saw my first brz on the road this past weekend and it was looking sharp! I still think the stock rims look like crap though. First mod for everyone should be wheels!

I saw the silver one at the DC auto show and I was not impressed. My local dealer (Hunt Valley) had one this past weekend so I went to check it out and get a better up-close view of everything. I'm not sure if it was the color or what but I loved it the second time around.
And yes, the wheels are pretty bad. The gap between the tires and wheel well is bad as well. Hopefully a future, STI, iteration takes care of both aspects. |
