Broke Rear Diff Pinion
Anyone ever done this? We were at the track with a STi that puts down 560wtq, and upon a perfect launch and a super sticky track (was a closed session so the track was very prepped) we snapped the rear diff pinion right in half. We are looking for an upgrade but haven't had much luck finding one. We really don't want to put stock back on there and have this happen again. Albins said they don't make one, but they could with a lot of time and money. Anyone know of anyone who already makes an upgraded rear diff pinion for a R180?

That might be hard. If yiu find one let us know there's got to be a market for them.

you can try and contact flat4innovations or andrewtech someone who deals with subie drive trains, or you can order a stock set and send them out to cryo tech or any place that does rem isf metal treating.

We already contacted them. We have decided to just order a new stock rear diff for the car for now. We have also ordered a new rear diff ring & pinion and we are going to manufacture our own since we have access to the machines needed anyways. It's just going to take some time.

So we ended up just buying a sequential dogbox with a LSD upgraded diff. After speaking with everyone we all came to the conclusion that it was a rare thing to break what we broke and it probably had something to do with the 600wtq and overly prepared track that day.
We also upgraded turbos and are going for 800whp in the next few weeks. |
