I learned three times before getting an MT car of my own:
Friend's 1994 Toyota Celica
Another friend's 1990 Audi Quattro Coupe
Dealership's new Mazdaspeed 3. I feel bad for the person who's going to be buying that one because I roasted the clutch on that thing lol

Hmm. Couldn't tell you a year or a specific model. It was a RHD Honda microvan my dad had the first time we lived in Japan from 82-84. We had a field behind our housing unit and he took me back there at 9 years old. It was soo small(think Subiegal's Stanley), I fit in it just fine. Soo little HP, it was super easy to drive. You really couldn't kill it.

First car I ever drove was a 1989 Geo Metro 5-speed manual with that super fun to drive 1.0 liter 3 cylinder lol. Then I truly learned manual on a 1992 Mazda Navajo (same as Ford Explorer) Sport. The shift lever was huge; you almost punched the radio when shifting into 3rd lol. great truck though; finally retired at 317k miles.

I was 12 or 13 when my dad let me drive his early 90's F-150, good thing we were on dirt cuz I totally popped the clutch.

Technically I have been driving since I was 9 or 10, between my go-kart and the old International I used to plow the driveway with, I already had a lot of offroad experience.

First three vehicles were autos just cuz they were cheap used beaters, my 4th was a 1992 Dodge Caravan 5spd. Yes, a manual transmission in a mini van, it was awesome.

Almost all my cars since then have been manuals as well.

1984 Ford Ranger in my parent's driveway at 14yo. No one was around after school but the truck keys were, and we had a long enough and wide enough driveway to do K turns. I am sure the truck's clutch loved it.

I first learned how to drive my moms lexus.

I learned how to drive stick when I was 17 on my 2012 STi sedan... That was about 1.2 years ago. It was a bit of a struggle, but eventually everything clicked. haha
