air control valve
Does anyone know anything about the air control valve? My car starts idling at 1200rpm for no apparent reason. Then it'll go back to normal after I restart. I went to the dealer and was told that carbon builds up in there and one quick fix could be to clear it out with some carb cleaner so I tried that to no avail. I also checked on the price of a new one and it was over $200 for this tiny valve.
I posted in here because I assumed that the valve on the EJ20T was a little different. Can anyone help? Gary

spring cleaning
There might be gunk built-up inside the idle-control-valve assembly. Try This:
Remove the throttle, then from it remove the ICV. It should just be 2 little screws, not too difficult. I did it on my car, not to hard. Clean out any junk in there its probably just giving the lil pistion(valve gizmo) a hard time moving and adjusting. Should take no more than 10-15min to get this part completely out of the car. Using carb cleaner would be ok i guess on that gunk, btw. Jeffie |
