but damn, Stephanie got the 3.6 now and I don't feel like a man anymore. Her car is so much faster and torquey. In other news, my buddy that moved to CT left his motorcycles here for me to dewinterize. Yesterday was very fun. 2011 Ducati 1198. That is a fun ride. and rolling down 52 with the Termi's blaring and then closing the throttle or blipping for downshifts just sends tingles to all the right spots. |

The V10 M5 had some sort of problem and was super expensive to maintain. Can't remember though... Gas mileage is just pitaful, but if you are buying that car, you obviously don't care! And it is SMG only (yuck!) THey should have put the DCT in, would have been much better.
And 1198!!! Nice bike to "dewinterize"...haha. A M3 buddy in Kansas who had to much money (or mommy and daddy gave him to much money) had a 1198S..(it wasn't just the 1198, it had a letter after it). Talk about a good sounding, fast bike. |

The 1198 is fun, its not that much faster than my 750, just noisy, vibrates a ton, dry clutch is grabby, below 4k rpm is just awful. BUT MY GOD is it fun! |

Timing belt, headgasket, general maintenance.
But I don't think you'll find the 08 Legacy a whole lot bigger than your Ralliart. There really isn't that much more room in them compared to an Impreza, just a few more creature comforts. |

I would look for something with better gas mileage than the Legacy then. The 4th gens weren't all that spectacular on MPGs. As vanilla as they might be, an Accord or Camry would probably serve you better.

Well, I went and looked at the house by the golf course. I kind of liked it. 3 car garage, 1600sqft basement (unfinished) and 2/3 of an acre lot. Still looking though.

no, its not a mini golf course. Its on battleground gc.
I would never, ever, buy an accord or camry. You can be economical and still have a fun/attractive car. I swear a little bit of me died everytime I drove the accord. Honestly, i would rather drive this POS corsica I am tooling around in than that Honda. at least it is quirky and awful, not just bland and awful. |

And I believe we've all had this discussion in the last iteration of this thread. Fluctuations in price and picking higher octane only results in a hundred or two difference in price at the end of the year. Or what amounts to paying $20-30 extra a month to not hate life while you press the accelerator waiting 8-10 seconds to get up to speed, banging on the steering wheel and screaming expletives. Mom has a Lexus and Dad has his Audi. They only get middle grade because "it saves them money". I even laid out the numbers in front of them, to show that premium won't keep them from buying groceries, or help save money to pay insurance.
EFFING GET PREMIUM, you buy a nice car, effing pay the couple bones more per year for the fuel it requires. It's not like they can't afford it. And then... she is confused and bothered by the fact I buy premium, so much so that we've gotten into a heated discussion about it. |
