Default ice covered road+impatient driver's= rant

It rained all day yesterday, and last night the rain turned to snow. This morning there was a slight snowfall/dusting. However the rain that fell before the snow all turned to ice. I was driving this morning on a long country road with few people on it, there are some pretty tight corners on it but for the most part it's straight. Speed limit is 45, I quickly discovered that the raod still had ice on it. I slowed down to between 25-35 and kept that pace. Some retard in a brand new Nissan Armada comes flying up behind me, taligates me and starts beeping and giving me high beams. WTH is that? Then he starts to slow down almost to a stop, then he races up behind me again. All this is taking places on ice. Why don't people understand that you have to drive slow in the ice? Probable answer: "I have 4WD."

just pull over and let him by.

later when he's in the ditch, smile and wave as you drive by.

Thats _exactly_ what I do.
Don't make things worst and get yourself in a traffic altercation.
Just get over and let the tool pass and wreck on his own or into someone else.

Then move on with your own life...

i had some numbskull in a FLAT BED tailgate me in the miata yesterday. He was all acting like he was going to pass me on this one lane road . On top of that I was already speeding, so I slowed down, just for him . He was so happy .

This is when you start stocking your passenger seat with the water balloons filled with baby food that have been festering at the back of your property since April.

One giant bird-crap balloon across the windsheild takes care of a tailgater.

Exactly.

Its not worth catching a charge for assault, property damage or even killing a person (throwing stuff out your windows is illegal) by tossing crap on to their windshields.
Don't do it.

Just get over, even if its to the shoulder, and let the crazy man/woman pass...and wreck on their own.

Lifes too short to get mixed up in petty stuff.

Yep.

If you want them do DIAF and you know your vehicle is more capable and you are a better driver, simply raise the bar on each turn till he's struggling to ride your ass. Open it up and watch said moron drive off the road. This works well on very twisty roads.

They're usually the same people who end up in the ditches. Around here when it snows, the only cars in the ditches are the SUV's and the 4x4 trucks.

I was coming up to an intersection a few years back and and saw an SUV miss the turn and slide across. Therefore I didn't pull up to the stop line for fear of someone missing the turn again and sliding into me. Of course some jackass in an Explorer felt the need to get right on my bumper while we were waiting for the light and turn his brights on because I wasn't up on the line.

Just hit the brakes hard enough to get into the ABS.

They'll back off.

Or they hit you, and you sue them for a bazillion dollars.

It would be hard to sue someone if you were dead. There are way too many whack jobs out there that drive cars/trucks.

I want a fine misting nozzle aimed up and rearward that sprays a large volume of heavy petroluem based oil.... when this concoction gets on their windshield, they'll naturally try to wipe it off with their wipers and when they do this, insta-smear - no visibility.

Jetfan, like everyone else has said, those people are the ones that end up in the ditch with the confused look on their face. If you listened to their phone conversation(which they're still in the middle of), they'd say something like "I passed this moron doing 30, but after that, I hit the brakes 'cuz I saw a corner coming and then next thing you know I'm in the ditch. Thank goodness I didn't spill my starbucks" Just then you'd pass 'em and smile

Alacrity, you should tell that to panache. <---Mr. I drive through houses and fences....
