Default Two cylinders not working after swap, what else to check?

I just finished the WRX swap on my 00 RS. I've fixed issues that have come up, but now I have two cylinders that are now working at all. The motor is only running on two cylinders. I can disconnect the non-working cylinder with no change to the engine.

I've swapped for a known good car:
* ECU
* Battery
* Coil

I've swapped from the bad to the good cyl:
* Plugs
* Injector

I've tested for spark and there is. I've tested the 12v on the injector clip and it's present. If I put my ear to each injector I can hear them pulsing, the bad cylinders are pulsing not as loud though.

Anyone have any ideas as to what to check?

When you say disconnect the cylinder are you meaning taking the coil off of the plug? And are both of these cylinders on the same bank? and if so which one?

I'm having a similar issue with my swap..

All grounds are connected. If i take off the electrical plug from the coil, nothing happens to the engine.

The non-working cyls are on opposite sides.

Non working are passenger side and driver rear.

.. just throwing out some things to check i suppose here.... on the cylinders that aren't firing are the plugs wet with anything? gas.. oil... koolaid? haha or what do they smell like? and do you have a cobb AP or something similar to be able to read what the ecu is signaling and putting out? something else to check.... get a multimeter or a circuit test light and count the time between signals on the cylinders that are not working (easier to count with a test light but safer with the multimeter) and then see if they are signaling in time with the others that are correctly firing... this may lead to new questions to be asked... check fuel pressure.. the 2 rear cylinders in lamen terms of physics are the last 2 to get fuel so maybe there is some sort of blockage or flowing problem.. this would be a good time to put a fuel pressure regulator in. and one last thing that i can think of now... do a compression test on a good and bad cylinder if not all 4 and see what that brings you.. just some suggestions.. im in the trial and error period of mine so these are some things ive thought of to do.. along with the nintendo method of unplugging blowing on it and pluggin it back in ha

hahaha @ the Nintendo method....

I've actually swapped everything possible from the WRX I have into it trying to find the fault. I even disconnected the fuel rail and held it while my Dad cranked the motor to verify that fuel was being shot by the injectors.

So, after trying everything today I took off the timing covers and guess what, timing is off. I don't know how, but it's off. One intake is off at least by 3 teeth and the other by 1 or 2. So if you have a similar issue, check your timing.

I'll reset it and report back.

... if MY timing is off, im gonna poop a hammer... the guy at the place that sells them told me it was in time and good to go... so i took his word.. because nobody lies these days ... but ill pull off those covers tonight and check the marks... but yea... if you can tell me if that helps yours thatd be sweet...

my problem is... odd... i only have spark on 1 cylinder.. so mine doesnt run at all.. it hasnt even ignited the fuel in that one cylinder yet... and the other three have power to the coil but no signal from the signal wire to spark... so unless my computer took a crap.. then the timing thing would make sense.. if my timing was off.. just a little bit.. then that would throw the cam and crank sensor out of sync and it wouldnt relay signals to fire... maybe that is my problem... i hope so.. because compared to all the but yea let me know please.. hopefully we both can be up and running soon!!

Luckily I have a bugeye that I have been swapping parts with. So I have eliminated the coils, plugs, ecu, etc. This was the last thing I have checked.

are you going to buy an timing kit or at least belt before you adjust yours?? or are you going to use the current belt to see if it works?

The current belt and components are brand new, as well as almost everything else on the motor.

Put the timing belt back on with all the marks right on the money. I actually turned the car on with the covers off for a second or two and rechecked everything. Put everything back on and she turned on nice and smooth. Took it for a 20 mile break in without any issues, not even one cel.
