It's a change in throttle response. NOT turbo lag. Same volume of air is flowing through the turbo at the same velocity as it was before the FMIC install. The difference now, as many have stated, is that the distance between the compression point (turbo) and throttle plate has grown by eleventybillion feet. Making for less responsive throttle inputs.
A new tune will account for the change in pressure drop across the old TMIC and new FMIC, and maximize the charge cooling gain with the FMIC. But you won't see a magically noticeable increase in throttle response. Just something to get used to. BUT, do yourself a favor, and do a leak check at all the FMIC pipe couplers. Most often you'll find a leak somewhere that is making the throttle response even worse than it should be. |

I don't really give a crap what your opinion is on my setup. That's how it is. I asked for reasons this might be causing a delay in throttle response, not for a lecture on reasons you don't like a FMIC., but instead you feel the need to take subtle stabs at me as you do in half the threads you post in. I'm done reading this thread, I'll ask my tuner.

Oh really? why so? I'm absolutely sure I am right. I'd like to know how you think otherwise simply for amusement. It can be improved, but it will never feel the same as the stock TMIC. However without a doubt the so called "laggy feeling getting into boost" can be greatly improved with the right tune and an EBCS. |

When did an EBCS start becoming a fix all around here? Lots of stupid in this thread.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that not nitpicking semantics solves these confusing thread problems.

Quit reading, you do not comprehend appropriately.
No semantics are involved in this thread. There is a technical difference with the incorrect term and correct term used to describe what the OP was feeling. Do not post in threads you cannot offer insight to. It'll make threads confusing. |
