Default 07 sti exhaust on my 2.5i weird noise

Hey guys I have an 07 2.5i and I just put a 07 sti axel back on. It sounds good. Exudes around 1500 rpm it gets this really high pitch exhaust note to it and then dies off a couple hundred rpms later. I have heard of other people having this problem. Do you think it is from the piping size difference? Or what do you think it is from? I could take my old stock axel back piping and weld it on the the sti muffler do you think that would help the problem out? Thanks and I look forward to hearing your guys thought!

I have a 3" axleback to my stock mid pipe and no strange noises, i dont think* its a piping issue.

You have any idea what it could be? It's only loud before 1500 and then not loud at all...

Did you replace the gasket? Sounds like it might be an exhaust leak.

No but I reused the old one and it looked to be in good condition, and I made sure to tighten it extra tight cuz I didn't put a new seal in
