In at the dealership or port? Hopefully its the former, since I'm from NOVA. I have a Estimated date of 12/31, with a scheduled date of 12/18. Does anyone know the difference?

I was told by my salesman "Scheduled Date" is the date your car is scheduled to have all acessories installed and completed at the port it's in. After the car is completed it will have a ship/rail date depend on the method it's being used to deliver the car to your dealer. I have scheduled date 12/17 and ETA 12/31.

Can I peek into your thread real quick? I have never ordered a new car, I don't know the process. If someone would like to take this to PM to not whore this thread im ok with that. Is there a thread i can actually goto to help with the process and answer the questions below?

Just want to know, is money down required and refundable if so? With having a car to trade in did you have price and everything squared before you order? Also safe to assume your current vehicle stays with you until delivery? Can you bargain better with something on the lot already (whenever they start showing i suppose).

Thanks

The answers to pretty much all of your questions can vary from one dealer to the next. The best way to get your answers is to drive to your local dealership and ask.

Now that I find understandable. For the peeps that had heir orders put on hold, you guys deserve to be angry/frustrated/antsy.

Some cars don't show up as being "in transit" if the dealer ordered he car properly. Mine never showed as being in transit.

Most dealers will want some sort of a deposit when you place an order. Usually a minimum of $500-1000. Most claim its non refundable (but who knows if there is truth to that or not). I would think that most places will want to make a deal with you prior to the order, so they will want to value your trade, etc before hand. But you should still be able to keep your trade in while you wait for the new car to arrive. It is usually easier to bargain on an order rather than a vehicle on the lot, especially these WRX's and STi's that aren't easy to come by. Because if you don't buy the car on the lot for MSRP, someone else probably will. This is especially true with STi's (at least in my area). They tend to get sold pretty quickly, used or new.

These are general guidelines, and I am also going based off of this thread and my own personal order. But as turbolvr pointed out, some of these things could vary from dealer to dealer. Good luck.

With regard to a trade-in, when I went to order my car the salesman said he could only give me a preliminary assessment on the value since it would be 2-3 months until the actual trade-in happened and that the final value assessment would be done by someone else.

First and foremost, if you have a Costco membership. I highly recommend going through them to find a dealer near you. I was able to order my car for $300 below invoice for only a $500 refundable deposit.

Cool thanks, i sent out the emails of interest to all the dealers around my area up to 80 miles Do you decide on price in writing before hand? Minus the trade in.

My dealer just informed me that the ETA was moved from 12/26 to 12/17 o_0 . I kinda feel like she's just toying with me though, I don't believe that my original February quote has been moved up to 12/17 (only a week away!).

I ordered on 10/28, so then this is like Week 5 of waiting? I must've lucked out and they had a base 4-door PBP STi in the pipeline a while ago...

Yeah seems like some people that has eta earlier than 12/31 are getting moved up to 12/17 and 12/31 eta are getting bumped back to 1/7 or so but I was bumped to 1/2.

May be i'll have more ETA once it's closer to my Scheduled Date 12/17.

I finally got an eta...~4 months after my order I finally get information that my car exists!

5-door WRB STi w/ nav and auto dim compass

Ordered: 9/15
ETA: 1/10

That makes it 22 weeks and one day if it doesn't come in early. My dealer said that it might arrive early but it will be at the dealer by the 10th. I am almost done.

Hi All! It's my first post here but I've been reading these forums for a little while.

I ordered my 2013 DGM STi on 11/17 from Subaru of Plano with an ETA of March. Received VON on 11/29. The wait is tough...
