Default 2005 RS exhaust systems?

What is the best sounding exhaust system for a 2005 RS? Preferably one that doesn't require me to swap headers. One that's in the 300-600 dollar range is something I'm looking for.

Should it be loud?

Um I'd prefer if it was like semi loud lol. Like loud enough so I can hear it most of the time, but not too loud where I'm having to blast my music to cover it

I would try to find either a stock STi catback or (if you can) a SPT axelback.
The STi catback will require the flange to be rotated and the mid pipe to be extended, but you can usually pick up the catback itself for under $200.
You won't get the boxer rumble without headers.
Neither the STi or SPT catback are very loud, but you can still hear them, and they will give it a somewhat rumbly sound.

Ok, I'll look into that. How much would it cost to get my exhaust system installed by someone?

Tsudo catback! Loud, deep, and it's only like 6 bolts.

I will be following this for sure. I am in the exact same boat, with a 2005 RS wagon. Waiting until spring to put one on but definitely need something. I love the sound of a boxer that can breath a little better.

I am looking at the Stromung single here for right now...

Hmm I'm going to consider this. Sounds pretty nice, but it looks like if you're going to want a nice boxer engine sound then you're going to have to get headers as well

we carry the Tsudo 2.5rs exhaust.
comes in 2.5" inch piping and no need to rotate exhaust flange.
this exhaust is made for the 2.5rs and will bolt up without rotating flange
also comes with removable silencer

feel free to message me if you are interested in purchasing!

Find a good muffler. Go to a local (good) muffler shop and have them weld you a 2 1/4in - 2 1/2in catback and throw that muffler on. After a few set ups I found this to be my favorite. Perfect look and sound for me.

Never tried the Tsudo exhaust but it looks pretty beast as well.
