I had my wrx tuned there the second time around and was happy with the work done. I loved the shop, can't knock the old brick building and jack stands, and I loved the serious cars they had for projects! You could tell real enthusiasts brought their cars there, not teenagers with daddy's money. Even though I can't ever see myself having a car that would be getting tuned (thanks economy!), if I did I would have definitely brought it back to DSG.

Wishing you guys well in your future projects!

I hope Alex, Bill, Scott, Nick, and Matt keep us up to date as to were they go to for future employment if they decide to stay in the industry.

I'm curious about this as well. I don't think I would even trust anyone else to tune my car at this point. Matt is an amazing tuner and tuned my Integra (3 sessions total). I was originally planning to go back this summer. DSG is also 15 min from my house. Huge bummer for the NE tuning scene, but of course wishing them the best.

Supply goes down and demand goes up. ^ We still have race cars and are in the same boat.

Well crap. I'm sorry to hear that, guys. I wish you the best of luck. I came in the spring and have actually had less than awesome results, although the guys themselves were mega nice (Nick in particular went above and beyond to help me pick parts). I was just getting up the nerve to swing by about a part I felt like the garage broke and some issues with my tune. I guess that will teach me for waiting.

No hard feelings though - I know I'm in the absolute minority and my less-than-awesome experience must've been a fluke - (The work was also really uninteresting)

"no hard feelings though"

So confused yet so happy to be done with stuff like this.

Rick, Nick found that your lateral link was bent and tried a quick fix with the floor jack to get you on the road. It had nothing to do with us. He noticed it when he finished the first round of work with your car and recommended that you get it aligned. It was a month before the car went on the dyno which precludes it from having been damaged by strapping the car on the dyno. There's no other way something like that would happen unless the car hit a curb at some point in it's life.

I looked through the invoices and we did do a comp test which came back with nearly perfect results. I neglected to charge you. (see thread title) and somehow now this is a problem.

Anyway I'm sorry that you didn't speak up for whatever reason. No one's perfect and we're no exception. The difference is that we would have taken care of it for you. Good luck with your car and thanks for at least letting us know your experience even though the timing made it nothing else than an exercise in vindication.

Alex

I'll take it offline with you, I really don't want to give the impression that I'm 'angry-customer guy'. Mistakes happen, misunderstandings happen, and I sincerely appreciate the undeniable awesomeness that you've provided the subaru community.

No worries man. I just wish people would have said something at the time and not wait. It's the thing that makes me frustrated. It seems that I wasn't told what was going on at the time and we should have been more involved. I'll send you a PM. I know you aren't angry but when we don't get a chance to address issues they go unresolved and when they go unresolved people don't come back. (not that it matters anymore)

The worst part of dealing with the public is having to deal with the public.
I could NEVER own my own buisness like you guys, In nine years of operation I would have surely killed someone by that point.
ALex, any post DSG plans for you?

Rick is being reasonable and going over events with him it leaves the possibility open that it could have bent on the dyno ( reasons unknown) we have offered to replace the lateral link and align the car at no charge 1 year later. Thank you for refreshing my memory Rick I apologize for the attitude.

Sean, yes it is hard all the time.

Amen to that!

Sad to see a well-respected New England shop drop off the map, it's getting lonely up here. I hope we see you guys out in the woods in 2013, don't be shy if you see Jay and me at the Wicked/Breffni service area, it's always nice to talk to other guys like us. We'll keep a couple of cold ones for you at NEFR

Best of luck in your future endeavours!
