Default What pads are folks using for daily driver/weekend warrior?

I'm looking to improve the braking on my WRX. Seems prudent since I've some go fast stuff, now I need to make it stop.

I've got some Hawk HP+ pads on my RX-7 and I really like those but the dust is pretty signifigant with 'em and they've now stained the wheels. I'm not adverse to dust but I'm lazy and don't want to be washing my wheels every couple of days for fear of pitting my P1's.

So what's good out there on the market right now?

Jason

I'm running with X-Drilled and Slotted rotors all around and EBC Greens. The rear don't dust as bad, but the fronts do. The thing I've noticed with EBC is that they dust (Contrary to EBC's Dustless Claim) but it washes of easier than other brands I've used.

I'm switching to Ferodo DS2500 pads based on a lot of recent dialog I had to this topic.

I wanted them to be rotor friendly, not squeal, reasonable amount of brake dust, and decent performance on track days.

My first time at the track with them will be July 6th at Texas Motor Speedway.

I hope they work as represented!

I'm running Endless CCX front, NA-y's rear for about 5,000 miles now. No squeeling, some dusting, good cold bite (improves w/ a slight warmup) rotor friendly thus far (knock on wood).

So far very impressed, unfortunately very pricey ~ $200 (ccx).

I was told by a mechanic maintaining BMW's for a driving school that he prefer's Performance Friction because they are not harsh on the rotors and grip very well. They were running Hawks on the car because of sponsorship. I too run Hawks, but will probably give the Performance Frictions when the Hawks wear out...GQ

Also, as far as the dust on the wheels. It's a compromise. If ya want a great performing brake pad, your going to have dust. Get a good wheel cleaner. Try P21S Wheel Cleaner. This stuff really works and won't harm the wheels...GQ

Has performance friction started making pads for RS/WRX? Last time I looked for them (4 months ago) they were unavailable. I'd love to go back to them. Used them in Hondas and BMWs. Also, Auto Zone carries them with a lifetime wear-out warantee.
