I hope Bank of America gets AIDS.
The whole company. ****ing retards.
I sent a payment by phone to these dimwits on 11/27. I then get a phone call last week telling me I'm overdue, so I check my online statements and see that the payment was never applied. Lovely! I can see the payment has been deducted by my other dumb financial institution, Commerce Bank (which also blows goats) so I call BOA to hash this out. I've since paid the balance in full. The lady on the phone was a douchebag, telling me that since she couldn't see the payment applied anywhere, she couldn't do anything for me. So I call Commerce to see if they screwed up the account number when paying the bill, and they tell me that they can't tell me that information. Helpful! Back on the phone with BOA! This time I get a reasonably intelligent guy who transferred me to their payment research department, and there works the lone helpful person in the entire company. I gave her my checking account number and she found the payment. Apparently BOA applied it to a Master Card, and not a Visa. I've never had a Master Card. Since the account was paid, now they're going to cut me a check for the payment, and also for any late fees incurred. Unfortunately they can't just transfer it, but at least I'm getting it back. Funny, how they can deduct money from your account in an instant, but when they **** up, it takes 10 days before they can even cut you a check. BOA can DIAF.

Every traditional bank such Wachovia, BOA, BB&T have all these archaic rules that stem from their days when the internet wasn't prevalent. Go with PNC, these guys pay online bills the next day (doesn't take ten days like traditional banks) and they have ATMs everywhere.

Why every person in the country doesn't use a credit union is absolutely beyond me. These big banks are ****ing ridiculous, their interest rates are so low, that unless you have $100,000 in a checking account, you're not getting anything over 1%, and maybe a whopping 2% in a savings account. Why do people deal with these huge entities at all when there is no financial benefit and customer service sucks? The excuse of ATM transactions is no longer valid since most CUs will refund ATM fees.
My CU has a money market account paying about 4.65% right now. No monolith bank establishments can come close to touching that, not to mention awesome customer service where I get a human in less than 30 seconds. |

I had a credit union in Oregon, It was nice, and they had a few ATMs arround the area as well as several Branches.
Right now I use TDBanknorth and they are ok. Nothing great, Nothing Horrible, And there are branches all over New England. I have an Emmigrant Account for my Savings. Their interest is usually around 4-5% |

Comcast did the same thing to me.
Instead of giving me my money back (after deducting money electronically from my account, 1 month after I stopped electronic payments, and 15 days after I closed my account) they credited my account! (the closed one) Took over a month to sort that one out. (yes, I know, never set up automatic debit) |

How about Verizon deciding that my e-mail address was not my e-mail address...made one up for me and then sent my bills there. I was 2 months late because of this. I called to find out why my e-mail was changed and they said they had no record of it ever changing...WTF?! Not only that I also had a backup auto-payment set-up that also was magically deleted with no record of that either.
