best meth kit???
I've searched, but cant decide which kit is best for me. I currently have a snow performance kit, and my pump has blown twice in a matter of a hundred miles. I need a deadly reliable meth kit, prefer to have ss lines and top of the line everything. the snow performance kit is going in the trash
which kit should I go with? I'm using my i/c resevoir in my trunk, like to continue using it. I'm also running a utec/ecutek combo, 35r, and have multiple maps for 93/c16/VP Import, but no meth maps right now. Thanks!

You should contact Snow Performance about your pump. They are a stand up company and I bet they will take care of it for you.
If I can ask...are you using 100% methanol? Whats happening with the pump? |

From what I hear, different shurflow pumps come with different seals. I couldn't imagine how they'd die out so quick though. If you call shurflow up, they might send you a set of better seals to replace the ones in your pump. It would probably be better to talk to snow and ask them their opinion though.

I didnt buy my kit directly from snow, so I wonder if they'll still help me. I've lost my confidence in the kit, and I also want ss lines, which is why I'm considering a new kit.

Imo it would be easier and less expensive to mount your alky tank somewhere else(like in front of the wheel well). This would make it so there wouldn't be a big advantage to ss lines as long as your tubing doesn't get too close to the turbo/exhaust. Just some food for thought....

The tank and the pump. I'm not sayin that's the best place for them, but there's a lot of room in there and the tubing doesn't need to be routed near passengers. Some other benifits would be that the pump wouldn't have to work as hard, the line pressure might rise quicker, and alk will always be close to ambient temp. Also, you could use shoter/narrow nylon tubing which would help alc get to the engine quicker/pressure rise quicker, and use less. Ie- You'd get more out of a gallon since the tube would hold less alc, and it's easier to raise the pressure when there's less area.

I would call Dan at Snow Performance and talk to him about that. I have been running this kit day in and day out in my evo for some time now (~55gal of meth through the kit) and I have had zero problems where as in my smc I didn't even get 15gal through it before the problems started...

Alky Control
Hey Guys you should all go to the www.aklycontrol.com web site and or call Julio at 727.526.9724
He will take the time an explain why his pumps are better than any other companies out there. In fact he is the main supplier for Evos that are running Alky. This guy and knows his Balogna better than Oscar Meyer. Mr. Quick |

How is AlkyControl the #1 supplier for Evos running Alky? This is just question. I am just curious. When I am on the Evo Forums I tend to see SMC, Snow quite often. Again, I am just very curious as to how you came to that conclusion. Just an honest question. |

Haha. His comment about the pump sounded familiar.

I mounted my tank under the SPT intake. I can take the top off and refill it without a funnel. It took a bit of thinking and tinkering, but it sits there nicely.
The tank that came with my kit did not fit so I went to autozone and got one, works like a charm. I bolted it to the SPT heat shield and it stays pretty cool there. Quote:

Here are some random coolant tanks I found. Imagine something like one of them in the wheel well(and being fillable in the engine compartment) . |

I tried to mount the oem coolant res. in the fender well and it wouldnt fit. It is a great idea if someone can figure out exactly which tank to get.
As I stated above I ended uo mounting my tank under the SPT intake and I mounted the pump upside down to keep the lines lower than the tank. Works great. Quote:

aquamist is the way to go
also 100% meth will start to boil at approx 160 deg, thats why most people run 50/50 |

There are better reasons to run 50/50% over 100% other then the boiling point. After all, the combustion chamber is gonna be hotter then 200F, so 50/50% would definately boil no matter what(probably as it goes through the heads). Most pumps(and other system parts) won't last nearly as long on 100% meth as with 50/50, fires won't start easily with 50/50, but with 100%, and water has really good heat absorbtion capabilities..............
