Default 2008 2.5i 5 door with SPT exhaust

Just recieved my SPT exhaust today, so I ran to the dealership and had it installed. I'm a fan so far. Sounds a little raspier than I'd like, but not too harsh. Butt dyno says that it lags a little at lower rpm's, but really opens up past 3k. Not bad for $300.

It took a little bit of searching, but Reliable performance Center, I think is the name, still has them for just north of $300. I found the link in a thread on the board somewhere, checked, and they still had them in stock.

I can't wait for it to break in. It sounds ok at the moment, but it does still have a bunch to burn off. And there is a trade off in driveability, it seems, as it does loose some punch in the low end. But it feels great at higher rpm's. It loves to pass on the highway at 75-80.

Hmmm. That was what I was afraid of. I prefer the power in the low end vs. the higher end.

Well, the piping is a little bigger, as it's for the WRX and not the 2.5, so the loss is kinda to be expected. But it's not that bad, and it doesn't seem to have affected my mpg, so I'll take it as a tolerable loss. And even if I were to autocross it, I don't think it's be that hard to keep in the powerband, especially with a few simple mods like replacing the crank pulley with the Perrin model.

So true. I have the exact same setup as the OP. The sound gets better as time goes on!
