Yeah, we thought it was a steal as well.
Waiting for this car is gonna kill me. I wish I could be cryogenic-ally frozen until it arrived. |

Yeah I do to now too. I have drove manual shift cars for the past 20 some years now. I never had problems with taking off on hills. I wonder how much this is gonna bother me . Kind of hard to pull away from traffic if your brake is holding you back. Does anyone know how much of angle you have to be at for it to activate?

As a future STI owner, how do you turn off hill assist?

I on the other hand turn it off every time I get in the car. I have noticed that if you are on an incline, no matter how small and you take your foot off the brake and roll back just alil it will turn on. It does however do an alright job of letting go when you start moving. I still hate it though, if you are driving a 260+hp performance car with a manual gear box. You shouldn't need a hill assist... If you do you shouldn't be driving it. However if you plan to REALLY take off, say from a inclined autox start, I would take it off because it does take it a second to let go. I would be more ok with it being on there if it had a green "its on" button and light on the dash rather than no light, no button, but when you turn it off it has a "its off" red error light. For those who plan on keeping the car for a long time... just think of the PITA it is going to be when something having to do with the hill assist fails... |

Got an email back from the dealership today, unfortunately it looks like a November delivery.
He said only about 50 STIs are due here in the states thru the end of October! So they're behind in production. Just look at the August sales numbers for Subaru and it all makes sense. Tom doll on bbg news the other day said production is running full tilt. Aug WRX/STI sales up 81% too! That's a lot of orders to fill. Time to hurry up and wait. Lol |

First time WRX owner / poster here. Ordered my base DGM WRX sedan with short shifter, spoiler, turbo heat shield, all weather floor mats for $25678 on Aug 30.
I got the '14 cause there were some sweet deals out there. I don't think the '15 will have drastically better performance but will probably be fairly more expensive and I'll have to pay sticker. Not to mention an unknown first year drive train. Plus I don't like a 6 speed, which I assume it will have, that I have to shift all the time. Aside from the torque steer, another reason I didn't go with the Focus ST. What does VON mean? The dealer quoted me a mid December delivery. Does that seem reasonable? |

What is it about the Incline Start Assist you don't like? I have it on mine and it is transparent to me. Quote:
I believe it is a 5% grade. I know this is the number for the the hill holder on the Outback/Legacy, but think that is the number for the Incline Start Assist also. |

Hey everyone,
I wanted to get your opinion on this deal I have been working on with a dealership. It is for a limited hatchback in DGM with all weather mats, red illumination kit, and a rear bumper cover, all which would be ordered. Price I am being offered is: $30,900 OTD taxes and all Let me know what you think. |

Would someone be able to give me what a sample VON number looks like? I ordered my DGM WRX STI Sedan back in the first week of June. My 13 order was changed to a 14 and was put in the day the orders for the 14 were open. The saleslady I have been working with sent me a screen shot of my order in the system without is showing the order being filled, however in the same screen shot I saw several other cars, a legacy, brz, with the status as being filled. I only see three letters and two numbers above my vehicle model. Is that the VON? This lady has been the worst at providing a timeline. Every time I ask her anything shes clueless and its the most infuriating thing. I wish she would lie and give me some timeline.

I have a general WTF machine I didn't need you to do that feeling. Its kinda like a slow automatic sliding door at walmart, sure you didn't have to push the door open... but I would have rather just pushed it open and not had to wait on it. |

I know on the STI the hill assist is turned off by pressing the traction control button once and then pressing it and holding for 5-10 seconds.. Not sure what other models this works on but the light will come on and be amber for the hill assist..

What is the importance of a VON? My dealer didn't give me anything except a sheet with an agreed price and what I ordered and said to check back in November. Do I need to get anything else from him?
