Not only that but the Southern Cross is their equivalent of the North Star since it's almost right above the South Pole. The Pleiades are in the Northern Sky with a declination of +24 degrees, which puts it above 24 degrees north latitude. The sun doesn't get past 23 degrees north in the summer. So there is quite a distance between them.

Ill still never forget one (of the many) things that have happened to me. People pay quite a bit of attention to these cars, even though they've never heard of Subaru.

I'd just picked up my '11 STi sedan a week or so before, and was out to eat. It was a seat yourself place. We had a waitress that was in her 40's. She took our drink order, retuned, and asked if that was my vehicle outside. I said yeah, and she returned with a "that looks really nice... Is that the new Ford Mustang? I honestly thought she noticed the wrong vehicle. I looked outside for a Mustang, realized there wasn't any, chuckled, and said no, it's a Subaru. I swear she quit listening. I was trying to tell her it's just as fast, and is AWD all the time (which is nice in unpredictable Indiana weather) & she just said huh and walked away.

I don't mind people that mistake it for another make/model, but if you throw something out there you should know what you're talking about. At least that's my opinion. She could have simply asked what it was because it looked nice. She could have listened to what I had to say after I said no, it's a Subaru. She could have done a lot of thing differently, but you know what? She was still a damn good waitress. Good tip, even though her attitude wasn't the best after figuring out it was foreign. Yes. There are still those people.

Does she think that all those American muscle cars like the Camaro are actually made in the US...?

Yeah. I love people like that. My father is one of them. I'd consider it an older generation thing for sure.

Default Friendly.. or not..

Not hilarious, but interesting thing happened to me yesterday. Driving through my college campus, saw a Rally Blue 2007-ish WRX sedan. They waved, I waved, and then looked in my rearview mirror to see a middle-finger being waved out the window. I laughed it off, but wonder what the reason could be? Did they not see me wave? Were they jealous of my 2013 WRX? Did they think I was a spoiled kid? For a brief second, I thought about turning around and finding out what the finger was for, but figured I better play it safe and let it go. Small misunderstanding, and I'd love to get into my WRX community here more.

Anyone else had this happen, ever?

"Does the antenna pop right out when you start the car?"
(antenna is never out because I listen to Pandora)

(confused) No.

----during the drive----

"Do you ever race this thing?? Like street racing?!?"

No.

"Do you think you would win?"

(more confused) No. It's not fast, but it handles pretty good.

"Oh......"

All asked by a co-worker that needed a ride home. Kinda weird questions, considering I have a 13 year old, base model, n/a Impreza.

It's not white, grey, beige, or black, so it's obviously a crazy far-out colour.

(Seriously, the lack of colours in new cars is depressing. Want a Honda Civic in Canada? Your choices are grey, black, white, or navy blue. Ughhh.)

Yeah I'm tired of seeing so many white WRX's/STI's. IMO they do not look good. White is what fleet vehicles come in, way to look corporate bro.
