Very nice car so far! I ove those STI rims, but Are they gold or gunmetal? IMO White on Gold is probably the best look for 08+STI/11+WRX. But the gunmetal looks clean, if anything a little less rally.

Hey man, love what you've done to the car so far! I'm about to buy the SMY pod and the defi boost gauge. Just curious, why'd you pick the oil temp over oil pressure? Most of me wants the oil temp, but I hear oil pressure is more essential. Also, are your gauges 52mm or 60mm?

I had the Gold sti's with the ISC 25mm adapter/spacers. It looked GREAT but it was too flashy for me. I found a set of sti bbs that was redrilled for 5x100 that I jumped on. I rubbed a little bit with the 25mm spacer setup with a full load since I was on stock suspension and alignment. I've always loved the gunmetal set and that was my end goal. I just found the Gold ones 1st so I scooped them up.

I like oil temp because as stupid as it sounds, I like to know when the oil is warm enough to push the car. I want to make sure the turbo's have nice warm oil going through them and the car itself is ready to go. I have an M3 and it has a stock oil temp gauge. A lot of people think that the coolant gauge/water temp tells you when the car is warmed up, which is not true.

All my gauges are 52mm, as that's all that fits in the SMY cluster. The cluster is an excellent piece!

Washed the car to the cleanest it's ever been. I found a lot of adhesive from the plastic wrap from when the car was new that the detailers at the dealer never took off 100%. I scrubbed every bug/gut off the car. Vacuumed everything and did a full wipe down with Griots Interior Cleaner. I'll need to get pics of the interior while it's still clean but ran out of time. The Exterior took me 2 hours to get EVERYTHING off the car. Now I can say it's 100% clean

Running out of sun!! All finished

Bug Free!

I'm selling it soon. I got a new one to replace it since it's a little beat up, mostly scratches from the previous owner.

I believe it's a HT auto CS style front lip.

Small update:

Since having gone stage 2 with the TP maps, I did a couple datalogs for Eric @ TP. He emailed me back right away and said he wanted to make a couple small changes. He was very thorough and asked what mods I had right now so he could have the full picture of what he's working with. That same night I got an email back with the new modified tune.
It was an awesome experience and I would recommend Torqued Performance to anyone interested in a non pro tune. It's as close as you can get without dyno time.

Did you buy the wheels already redrilled or you bought it to a shop to get redrilled?

Had a little issue with the car tuesday.
Tire blew out on the highway
You can see some rubber marks on the side skirt from the blow out. It actually knocked off part of the side skirt, but I was able to clip it back on.

Just the tire...

Where I think it all started...making the tire pressure drop and make it heat up quickly on the highway then exploding.

I really didn't want to get the Dunlop SP600 (stock sti tires) so I found a 80% used set of Michelin Pilot Sport 2's in the same size (245/40/18) on the M3 forums I frequent. The 08-2013 M3's front Tire's are the same size

When they all wear out, I'll get something else. These tires that blew out still had 8/32 tread depth left and were from 2012.

The main thing is that everyone is OK, car will be fine. Mounting up a pair of the Michelin PS2's today

Thanks!

It looks like the wheel is really rashed up, but if you look closely that's actually part of the side wall that didn't blow off in the explosion. It's the bead of the tire still holding on for dear life.

Suby took a trip to subaru land where everyone has a subaru (Maine)
