Yes. Do they make one? Is that a foreign only engine at the moment?

Toyota did something similar with the Corolla XRS, though they were using up left over Celica GTS engines.

An FA20 Impreza would cost almost what a WRX does, and a lot of Impreza drivers are afraid to wind out their lower revving FB20 as is.

I'd take a light pressure, port-injected 1.6T or maybe even the N/A FB16 if the fuel economy was significantly better. I doubt that an FB16 5MT is much slower than an FB20 CVT.

i don't think i could do 1.6l unless it was turbo. not with more than 1 person in the car

with nearly 70k on my Amsoil Severe Gear, i think it is time to change it out. been really hard to shift until everything warms up lately when <0F. last winter was overall colder and I don't remember it being difficult to shift. was hoping for 100K on the fluid, but don't think it will make it.

gonna drain it out this weekend or next week.

How many miles on your car when you used the Amsoil?

I've had mine in since 30K, at 60K now and plan to drain it at 80K. So far, so good.

4k is when i drained the factory fill. Odometer says 70 now bit fuelly has me at 74k. I think 50k interval is good for it, 100k is too much in my part of the world

Does it 2015 impreza sport premium wheel center cap fit 2014 impreza sport premium wheel? In other words, does part# 28821VA000 fit 2014 sport premium model?

Default Weird rear wheel/tire noise?

i don't know if this is going to be descriptive enough, but i'll give i a try:

- i have a strange noise coming from the rear tires/wheels/axle. it's only obvious on quiet/smooth paved roads. it's a sort of "whoop whoop whoop" sound. again, not very loud and not noticeable if the radio is on or if the road is rough. the sound does not go away if i pop the car into neutral so its clearly wheel/tire or something in the rear axle.

i'm assuming that if it's anything axle related, it would covered in the 5 year power train warranty? (my 3 year/36k warranty is up in a few weeks)

could it just be the tires (strange that it would just be the rear though since those see less wear relative to the front -- i confess i haven't rotated them in the 28k i have on these Yokos which i will get rid of in the next 12 months)

anyway, any thoughts or experiences such as this? or at least: am i right that this is covered under the power train warranty so i don't need to be in a rush to hit the dealer in the next few weeks and could perhaps wait and see until after i've swapped tires to self-diagnose?)

It's your tires that you never rotated.

The Yoko's did that to me too when they got to a similar mileage 35k. Lack of rotation just made yours start earlier. Why n the world would you not rotate them?

if you have never rotated them, and it will be evident by the wear patterns, warranty probably won't help you out.

Seems like he's trying to kill them but now it's adversely affecting his car.

not worried if its the tires. they actually seem (by the eye) to be wearing normally. honestly, it was both laziness and the intent to just use them until they were no longer useful and then move on.

i've done that with other OEM tires and never had this effect, but this is my first AWD car so maybe that plays a role.

rest assured, when i buy my next set, they will be rotated regularly.

The noise you described is what i noticed as well so it should be the tires. Not to say it couldn't be something else though.

If i were you, i would replace the tires, get your free alignment before your 36k is up.

oh, i forgot about the free alignment in the first 3 years.

might be tight with all going on (haven't priced out and made final decision on the Contis and Pirellis i've been thinking about)

but am i correct assuming that if something is wrong along the axle, etc, it's part of the drivetrain warranty?

I think so.

I hear ya on the tight budget, we have a ton happening this year and even though my wife doesnt want me too, i have been debating selling my subaru. I would prefer to have 2 vehicles that can fit my family and the Subaru& Jetta no longer qualify. We are getting a suburban or minivan, but i would prefer we get both. She wants me to keep it, but then i have no backup if the family hauler breaks

Speaking of weird sounds...
Yesterday I was out having some fun in the snow when I started getting a vibration/resonant tone right before I made it home. It's definitely RPM dependant as the throttle changes the tone (it's very pronounced under 2k RPMs), it's off and on and I can feel it in the footwell. It was still happening this morning. Any guesses what it could be?

It's a chunk of ice stuck in a wheel well or somewhere else under the car. Happens to me all the time after I go bombing through the snow. Can you park your car somewhere warm?

Naw man, it ain't the wheels. It can happen while the car is stopped. I first noticed it after the car was fully warmed for over an hour. If it was snow/ice trapped, it probably would have melted yesterday after I got home.

Did it cause a sound like I'm hearing? Where can I see the resonator from the engine bay? I only glanced in it yesterday, and I didn't see anything...
